Cool, next...Out of the Silent Planet

Lord Abortion 04-07-2005 03:08 PM

ah slight problem there ... what else is easy?

Thunder Fingers 04-07-2005 05:24 PM

yeah.. Most exelent gig.... if the Bass player had played a Fender...

maby im just picky, but i dont like Maiden Being Played on 5 stringed Music Man stingrays, with what that sounded like BRAND NEW roundwound strings, gave it the most anoying sound for maiden songs... and the tone was 'kin wrong...
ah slight problem there ... what else is easy?
Most of the Clive Burr era is fairly simple. But learn Paschendale.

paco999 04-07-2005 06:19 PM

I love the lyrics on Paschendale, I even used it in a history project. The guitar part isn't that hard either.

YDload 04-07-2005 06:21 PM

I got The Clairvoyant and I really like it, especially the bass-only intro. But is that clacking intentional, or is it just what Steve always sounds like when there's no other instruments to cover up most of it?

Thunder Fingers 04-07-2005 06:22 PM

He either way sound 10000000000 times better than that mofo in "Maidenheads" i like steves clicks.... but im weird in my playing, i can choos them in and out of my own playing :p

Deth 04-07-2005 06:47 PM

It just a very trebly sound, so I suppose it's intentional.

FrailandBedazzled1979 04-08-2005 12:15 AM

ahhhh good ol MX is still going strong

YDload 04-08-2005 12:24 AM

Fraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaail! You going to Ozzfest this year to see Maiden? Of course you are, why am I asking? I hope you are.

ashman 04-08-2005 04:14 AM

Thunder Fingers 04-08-2005 04:57 AM

Lord Abortion 04-08-2005 06:23 AM

the_uber_penguin 04-08-2005 06:39 AM
I love the lyrics on Paschendale, I even used it in a history project. The guitar part isn't that hard either.
Until Dave starts soloing in C# minor

EDIT: Actually, it's not the key...its 175bmp, playing all semi-quavers (16th notes) for about 10 bars

The singing's the most amazing bit on that song.

"Cruelty has a human heart
"Every man does play his part
"Terror of the men we kill
"The human heart is hungry still

"I stand my ground for the very last time
"Gun is ready as I stand in line
"Nervous wait for the whistle to blow
"Rush of blood and over we go......................."

/blood freezes

Thunder Fingers 04-08-2005 07:50 AM

nah..

"Blood is falling like the rain
Its crimson cloak unveils again
The sound of guns can't hide their shame
And so we die on Paschendale"

does it for me..

Deth 04-08-2005 07:52 AM

The whole songs amazing, now don't argue over lyrics.

bigbob 04-08-2005 08:33 AM

Deth 04-08-2005 12:52 PM

Bring Your daughter-Easy, but not good.

ashman 04-08-2005 12:59 PM
Bring Your daughter-Easy, but not good.
It's great if you play it live, you can get the crowd going like Bruce did on RL1...

Thunder Fingers 04-08-2005 01:06 PM

Bring you daughter is a good song.. me likes it..... whats good its all after what the individual listener think.. so please, stop calling songs bad...

Lord Abortion 04-08-2005 02:45 PM

tailgunner is better than bring your daughter... much better live

GurS 04-08-2005 02:47 PM

i disagree. i don't like tailgunner too much, and bydtts is a great live choon. one which my band includes in it's live set list, too

vashts80 04-08-2005 02:50 PM
It's great if you play it live, you can get the crowd going like Bruce did on RL1...
Donington is good for Bruce getting the crowd going as well. I have the boot DVD and (official?) CD release of it

Josh 04-08-2005 02:51 PM

bring your daughter is a good song, i like it. i havn't heard tailgunner though.

sorry its about 12mb, its a 192kbs wma file.

Lord Abortion 04-08-2005 02:55 PM

not knocking bring your daughter... it's cool
but I don't like NPFTD anyway...

paco999 04-08-2005 02:56 PM

I like Tailgunner better, but I'm not a big fan of No Prayer for the Dying. I love the Fear of the Dark version on Rock in Rio, it somehow makes me feel like i was there chanting after the intro or also in the very begining when Bruce says "A light in the Black, or just a Fear of the Dark". Also, when Bruce sings Iron Maiden and the Clansman. I think its the only cd that has him singing those songs.

I wish I would of been there or any Maiden concert

BTW: No More Lies, the Trooper, The Wicker Man and Fear of The Dark aren't that hard exept for the solos.

Josh 04-08-2005 02:58 PM

FOTD dark was great when i saw them on DoD tour...they turned off all the lights, then:
Bruce: light goes on
/spotlight on Bruce
Bruce: light goes off.
/spotlight turns off
Bruce: just like that. Fear of the dark.
