Let's Chop Cats! 02-02-2005 08:40 PM

Fearless Vampire Killers is the best band there even though it's a Bad Brains / Cro Mags cover set.

NewKindofArmy03 02-02-2005 08:47 PM

Subzero are amazing, I think their website shut down though. Last time I checked they were releasing a new cd soon, I need to check up on that.

cbmartinez 02-02-2005 08:54 PM

Subzero reminds me of Mortal Kombat, so they're already awesome. I'll go check them out...

NewKindofArmy03 02-02-2005 08:58 PM

Get the song Swinherd, it's a really good melodic hardcore song.

cbmartinez 02-02-2005 09:00 PM

Hahaha, I found another reason why they rule:

I never heard this song, but here's an mp3. http://www.stillbornrecords.com/music/black_snow.mp3
Get more though, I haven't even listened to a lot of their songs, but every single one sounds different.
I should make fun of you. But I won't, because I love Finch.
You were going to make fun of my taste in music? That's not cool... to each his own.

cbmartinez 02-02-2005 09:10 PM

I still think Sucide Notes is a very good album.

Let's Chop Cats! 02-02-2005 09:12 PM

Also that every song sounds the same on it.

Woah woah woah, take it easy.

young, loud and andrew 02-02-2005 09:28 PM

I was being sarcastic... but I probably wasn't very good at masking it there. I rip on people for their music taste all the time--it all evens itself out. No hard feelings!!

GUNS UP! = THE S.HIT. I'm loving this EP right now.

40 oz 2 freedom 02-02-2005 09:30 PM

I've only seen videos of them, but they were rad.

shane italian 02-02-2005 09:34 PM

Guns Up! was a rad show.

shane italian 02-02-2005 09:38 PM

Scott, goto Coachella.

BuddyBigsby 02-02-2005 09:45 PM

That stupid alt rock festival?

shane italian 02-02-2005 09:46 PM

Yeah, I'm so down to see NIN for 50 bucks in Indio.

40 oz 2 freedom 02-02-2005 09:48 PM

I'd do it. Coachella looked awesome last year.

young, loud and andrew 02-02-2005 09:50 PM

I believe Thrice is playing that festival. That would make it ALL worth it.

BuddyBigsby 02-02-2005 09:57 PM

I wouldn't see Thrice play in my backyard for 50 bucks.

Let's Chop Cats! 02-02-2005 09:59 PM

Hahaha.

If I remember correctly, you used to like Thrice. Seriously, I agree with you on a lot of points, but no one has a valid reason to hate Thrice.

1) They suck.
2) They spawned a whole s'hitty scene in my town that called itself hardcore but was really just s'hitXcore and effectivly muscled out all the other good forms of music by buying out the only venue every Saturday and Friday night.
3) They suck.

Those are three pretty valid points, I think.

"They suck"

Wow, my respect for you just skyrocketted. They are definately horrible musicians.

I'm sure they also single-handedly spawned every wannabe hardcore band in your scene, because I always hear people call Thrice hardcore.

Now get out.

TheNowhereman42 02-02-2005 10:36 PM

nonono, honestly, they really did spawn every horrible hardcore band in my entire town.

AndreTheHyena 02-02-2005 10:37 PM

I hate when bands go into towns and found shitty bands and then scamper off mischievously into the night. And then they have the gall to deny ever having done such things. The audacity.

Thrice is the most talented band in this whole "scene" right now. I don't care what the f.uck they spawned, because they didn't even get as popular as they were supposed to with The Artist in the Ambulance. They have the best lyrics around--hands down. In my opinion, Thrice is today's Refused. I cannot wait for the new album, and if you think "Stare at The Sun" (which, to say the least, has amazing lyrics and bass lines) is an example of Thrice's best, you are surely wrong. Go buy The Illusion of Safety (their other albums are still mindblowing) and listen to every song while reading the lyric book. Then, you can shut the f.uck up.

TheNowhereman42 02-02-2005 10:42 PM

I've never gotten why people go off about how good a bands lyrics are. Good lyrics are nice, but in the end doesn't it really come down to how good the song sounds?

*exception of Crass of course*

CRASS? I'm really at the point where I laugh at almost all "punk" bands. The genre is truly dead. I can't help smirking every time I see a gutter punk walking around. Also, I hate my username, so don't use it against me.

Thrice's music is much better than most of what's out today. Teppei is an amazing guitarist... you cannot deny that.
