The main problem is that I don't have any friends who are into metal.

I've seen a couple hundred bands but not many of the death metal variety because most of the fans piss me off to a ridiculous extent.

My uni town is dire for decent gigs; me and my friends generally go only because a lot of the gigs are free or very cheap and it gives us the opportunity to lol at abyssmal nu-metal or metalcore bands.
