okay. also my thread which i started got closed to being bad and overdone but i did some looking back on the past 15 pages and i didn't see any cover ones. also for being bad is just one opionion. it was up for interputanshen. also i meant an apollgise if the thread was done and i started. posted above. also had some dicussion going beacuse it just started

How about we do a Hall of Fame, like, vote for our favourite bands that deserve to be in the hall, and every onth or whatever we add another band. And then a t the end we could all vote for bands in the hall and we could vote ofr our ultimate favourite band

The covers thread may not have been done all that recently, but it has been down an awful lot. Also, most threads like that are bad because there's no actual discussion going on, it's just people naming songs which we can do without. Also, Also, they usually end up going for 20+ pages with people just repeating the same songs over and over and over and over and....well, I'm sure you get the idea.

SonorKen, I don't know if you already had this idea or have discussed this, but I realized that on the 20th it's going to be Dimebag's birthday, and I know that there is going to be atleast someone making a thread about his death or something. Which led me to think this:
Maybe on the anniversaries of popular musicians' deaths (Frank Zappa, Cobain, Dimebag, SRV, Mercury and so on...) you could make an official thread for each one or maybe just one big thread where people can say what they want, then after a few days close it, and then each year open the threads back up and bump it.

Yea, I think this is a good idea for Dimebag since his death is so recent. I'll start an official thread on the 19th. If someone wants to volunteer to write up a tribute thread I will make it official.

I agree, can I make a point in it that any stupid posts or bashing will get them banned? Also, what am I meant to be calling this thread.

^^^^ Definiatly man, its a celebration thread. Its to celebrate his contribution to music and his life. Make it plain and simple in the beginning that it is an appreciation thread only. Give some examples of things that will get them banned, like, "Meh, he was ok, kinda over-rated" or Avatars with negativity in them.

Let them know that I will enforce it like a pissed off Pittbull, instant 5 day ban and -rep from myself, the mod staff, and all the people who can rep..

Non-sense spamming of the thread will be an instant 3 day ban. We want to promote conversation in the thread, useful conversation tho..
