Awesome on the Madlib, but whats this DJ Shadow???
It's a post-Endtroducing compy that's not as good, but worth it if you're a fan. If you're wondering where all the other "What Does Your Soul Look Like" parts are they're here and are a bit epic at that.

ATM 09-01-2005 05:19 PM

I heard there is a DJ Shadow bootleg floating around the net that blows away Endtroducing.

Little Man being Erased 09-01-2005 05:20 PM

I'd like to hear that.

ATM 09-01-2005 05:21 PM

I'll try to find it. The forum where I can get it from is down at the moment, unfortunately.

Little Man being Erased 09-01-2005 05:22 PM

Awesome.
Rahsaan Roland Kirk
I've been reading up on him and he sounds like some crazily talented man. What would you consider (album wise) a good introduction to him?
Decemberists - Picaresque

Well, it's taken a while, but now i can see the fuss you guys made over this album. I had this urge to listen to it earlier, so i put it on. I've listened to it 2 times through since then, and my opinion has totally changed. It's now my favorite Decemberists album, and there's no weak songs at all. Up there with Illinois, Funeral and Black Mountain as my favourite album this year.
I've got a question about the Decemberists, actually. Maybe you or another fan could help. I heard (and enjoyed) a song by them on a plane radio station called Out of the Sun. Since then I've been looking for it in the tracklists on sites like Amazon, but I can't find it anywhere. Where is it?

Bright Moments and The Inflated Tear are great starting places. I Talk With Spirits is also significant, he only plays flute on that one (as opposed to his triple sax attack of doom most commonly heard).

Thanks, I'll see if I can find those first then. I still can't believe it's possible to play three saxophones at once.

The Clash - From Here to Eternity (Live)

They were so great live.

For most sax players, it's not something they can fairly consider possible.

Parkway Drive and The Blood Brothers

I've decided I probably won't go to The Red Paintings gig in a couple of weeks and just go to Parkway Drive. I'm going on a camp so I don't want to be too stuffed for school.

OrbDragon 09-02-2005 05:23 AM

I'm on a dEUS kick now, after getting Worst Case Scenario a week ago. "Right As Rain" is an incredible song.

Brainiac - Hissing Prigs in Static Couture

This is only the third time I've listened to it properly, and I'm liking it more each time, so it's looking promising.

br3ad_man 09-02-2005 06:59 AM

Do you like Vader Bartender?

Bartender 09-02-2005 07:25 AM

I've only heard a couple of tracks by them, on free demo/compilation CDs and things. I don't remember them being bad, but they clearly haven't inspired me to run out and buy an album, either.

br3ad_man 09-02-2005 07:27 AM

I'm quite enjoying them at the moment. I heard this awesome black metal sounding band on internet radio today and I'm trying to figure out who they were. From what I understood of the DJ, I think it's Hypocrisy.

Senor_Whippy 09-02-2005 07:31 AM

An unhealthy amount of Radiohead today

Yep, early-mid Sebadoh/solo work are the best Low Barlow eras.

Robert Crumb 09-02-2005 12:29 PM

No argument there. Although "The Ballad of the Daykitty" might be his best song concerning kitties.
