Finished your PGCE ? Hope the job hunt goes well mate.

And yeah dude, things are going well with the band looking to do an ep, got a lot of great feedback from our first track we got recorded www.facebook.com/notinportland if you haven't heard, finished second year, slightly below par with my marks but its nothing I can't bring upto scratch with some extreme graft over the next two years.

adbforever 07-06-2011 05:49 PM

looking at the possibility of getting my masters over in england

would only take a year as opposed to a year and a half/2 years and would more than likely be cheaper for me

sounds good with the band stuff, hope all the ep stuff goes well. I recently joined this band https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cachexic/111729090970 and did my first gig with them last week, goodtimes.

you've got two years left? is one a placement year or something?

Drugstep 07-06-2011 06:07 PM

Fleshgod Apocalypse is a better band name

2muchket! 07-06-2011 06:07 PM

Combined exempting qualification to be a solicitor/masters qual mate. Hope the results are good too dude, i'll check the band out later.

And it's an episode title from lost brent, and I liked it because it was quirkier than a lot of the shlock bands called themselves round here.

adbforever 07-06-2011 06:08 PM

i see

Drugstep 07-06-2011 06:08 PM

i hate cheesy band names like DOES IT OFFEND YOU, YEAH? or TONY DANZA TAP DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA

just given your track a listen, quite like it. interested to hear more when its recorded.

2muchket! 07-06-2011 06:15 PM

It's certainly the most 'poppy' song we have, that'd be the song that would be a lead single fo sho.

What's the death metal scene like down there ?

doubtfully then 07-06-2011 06:16 PM

pretty crap tbh, would prefer us to be closer to Bristol to get more of a following there as the scene is much better; plymouth has a big hardcore/deathcore thing going on and places like exeter/torquay/exmouth etc.. tend to cater for all. so its not all bad, just Bristol is the best place to be at the moment.

hows it up north? you're in Newcastle right?

SlightlyEpic 07-06-2011 06:37 PM

bristol? really? I'm totally out of the loop

adbforever 07-06-2011 06:40 PM

wonder how sam's doin

Morumbar 07-06-2011 06:42 PM

Wow, I love when countries actually have a living metal scene, other than just having a few neglected metal bands trying to get gigs at places where usually just indie bands play.

adbforever 07-06-2011 06:46 PM

italy has a good dm scene

Drugstep 07-06-2011 06:47 PM

there's no music scene in the south just strip clubs

Back in boro and we have a good local scene, best its been in years with a lot of varied bands, people are actually starting to put on shows again and getting good bands to play. It's actually better than Newcastle and Sunderland in a lot of ways for getting good underground bands from the UK and abroad to play. But there's even some promoters popping up in Newcastle who are trying to do good shit, More than Life are playin in the North East in October, so its not just left to the likes of those who book for the o2 academy in ways of good gigs.

And the bristol scene is pretty noted as being a breeding ground for excellent bands, theat and Reading, St Albans and Brighton tbh.
