Maybe he got smart enough to see the Log Out button?

How I've been reliving Taking Back Sunday - TAYF and Brand New - YFW for the past few weeks. I got the reissue of the TBS - TAYF and I can't find where the exclusive interviews and live videos are... Yet I see where the music videos. I like the back of the case with Jon Nolan making his finger look like a gun and putting it to Adam's head in front of him.
P.S. - My girlfriend showed me this really great aussie indie band. They're hard to describe but there music can make me happy anytime im sad. For songs and info... I don't know how to really describe them but someone like PDWAB would probably enjoy them alot. http://www.architectureinhelsinki.com/ |

I got the CD last week for my birthday and I can't find the two additional tracks. It kinda pissed me off. The same for the extra videos. |

The two additional tracks are on the B-side of the DVD disc. Very bad trend recently of movies doing the widescreen, fullscreen on the same disc, and now bands are pulling the same crap with songs and dvd. Double sided disc's are really rediculous because no matter what your going to have to put finger prints on one of the sides. I heard both bonus tracks, The Ballad Of Sal Villanueava should of been a track on TAYF... it fits perfectly. Cute without the E was a cut off of punk goes acoustic, and it's nothing to even fancy about. Adam sounds like he smoked alot of pot before he even recorded it. |
I noticed the DVD was two-sided, but I figured the other side would be the other DVDs.
|
Why anyone would by a reissue of any album last year is beyond me, unless you don't already own the album. I can't stand this trend of labels like Victory re-releasing albums made 1-2 years ago with maybe 2 bonus tracks everyone has already heard, and a DVD of interviews that are boring.

Maybe the CD is enhanced? |
I never had the original CD. So I'm not following the trend.:p

It's almost 4 years ago I downloaded TAYF off of Kazaa (I think at the time, maybe it was even napster). It's hard to believe that I had some demo versions and not final songs. I just heard the final songs of Bike Scene, and The Blue channel for basically the first time.
Bike Scene demo was better then the record version. First of all on the final version the part where Jon Nolan goes: This is all wrong and it shows There's certain things I promised not to let you know That part on the demo version was flowy and catchy. How they changed it making it seem like he was getting a broom stick up the butt at the time, he even pauses inbetween the lines and it sounds bad. Just bad...Adam on both songs though sounds like he produced that "spitty lisp" way he sings alot better then on the demo's so that was a plus. Blue Channel demo was horrible. I even deleated it off my mp3 player because I didn't even want to know it existed. The final version is a hell of a lot better especially intro to ending wise. I knew I had both versions of Great Romances of the 20th Century and I wonder why they took out the movie quote in the beginning, it fit perfectly. Adam's singing was better in the sense it sounded like alot more of the lyrics were emphasized through vocals. The album is still class. |

I bought the Hawthorne Heights reissue because I hadn't bought the original release. I agree that it's a stupid trend though. |

Alot of people know Taking Back Sunday for the Where You Want to Be. It's scene candy at it's best but I never actually bought the original CD. It's informing, and it's a good package for anyone new to the band/never knew there old side. Alot of these kids who like them probably never even knew about the band change up. It's showing respect (not getting wrecked). Yes it's a marketing campaign but I quite enjoyed everything it gave, because the reissue is at a cheaper price then the original here. EDIT - P.S. I think TAYF was released in 2001 or early 2002? |

Labels should be helping to promote bands with what they are doing now, and not bringing out material that is already out again just to get a few extra bucks. TAYF was released in 2002 |

TAYF was released in 2002
I can understand, if TAYF was only 2 years old, to reissue it but it's nothing new anymore. It's a good album to reissue because it's a classic on it's own. I still rank it up there because there hasn't been a band to contribute to the type of vocals and flow that they had during those songs (not even the new TBS). Victory Records blows a big one. The thing that makes me wonder is why not milk a new album by them then reissuing one that I downloaded when I was 13. I'm 18 in a few months now... They knew the album was gold. |
My only complaint was, why couldn't they just throw the 2 bonus songs on the main disc instead of having me have to change CD's for 2 damn songs. Like in the c&c reissue... it was so slick, so easy.

That would have made the most sense. |

But some albums like Atreyu, Hawthorne Heights, Alkaline Trio, Motion City Soundtrack, Coheed And Cambria. All of these ruin the point of re-releasing an album, and sort of piss all over the idea of showing a pinnacle album to a new crowd. Besides which, most fans of today's music scene have all these albums already. I noticed as well that TAYF was remastered slightly. Some of the guitar parts and backing vocals are quieter in some songs if you listen through earphones ("There's No 'I' In Team" is a good example if I remember right). I love that album a lot though. I'm queueing it after Vheissu finishes |
Speaking of, there new album is 4.25.06 supposedly. The album cover definitely looks like a winner compared to a naked baby. I just realized that both TAYF and WYWTB showcase the 152 Exit off of L.I. I think. I didn't even notice.

Yeah. It even had "I, Robot" at the very end, after Junesong acoustic, Elf Tower and Everything Evil demo. Some are so bad though. The Early November's re-release had no addition content from the band, and instead only included a sampler from Drive-Thru. |

Haha I noticed that the first time I saw WYWTB, and again with Louder Now. No naked babies = Plus points. I've heard this is a lot better than WYWTB, so I have high hopes for this album now. Before I wrote it off quickly, but I'm looking forward to it, and to seeing them in June. |

It has short haired Adam who looks like he could of passed as a college prep boy on the back of the reissue cover. Jon Nolan himself even looks young. Speaking of Motion City... My girlfriends Valentines Mixtape For Me Tracking: 1. APC - Magdalena 2. Aquabats - Red Sweater 3. Counting Crows - Mr. Jones 4. Foo Fighters - Everlong 5. Sublime + Gwen Stefani - I saw Red 6. Sublime - Caress me Down 7. Brand new - Seventy x 7 8. MCS - Everything is allright 9. Architecture In Helsinki - Dothewhirlwind 10. Architecture In Helsinki - its5! 11. MCS - Lets get ****ed up and die 12. MCS - The Future freaks me out 13. Steve Rhyner - Dark Black Forest 14. Daddy Yankee - lo que paso paso 15. FATA - Short Stories with Tragic Endings 16. Good Charlotte - Little things 17. Incubus - Pistola 18. Incubus - 1984 19. Incubus - Summer Romance (anti-grav) 20. Marcy Playground - Sex & Candy 21. Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Knock On Wood |
Finally Vince plays something good. Death Cab for Cutie.
