Would like to hear people's opinions on a great Classic Rock quote.. For a senior quote that is...I've known I want a classic rock quote, but not quite sold yet on what I want it to be...any idea's?

"Living is easy with eyes closed...Misunderstanding all you see" - The Beatles

deckstar_1 10-12-2004 12:51 AM

I got into classic rock after watching the movie Dazed and Confused. After the movie finished I sat there writing down all the bands that were in the credits then downloaded them. I've never looked back

[edit] To jpjrulestheworld I wasn't on at 3 in the morning, I live in Australia where it was more like 3 in the afternoon :)

"How can you have any pudding if you dont eat your meat?!"
im not sure if that would work as a senior quote, but ive always thought it was a cool line.

"Hey you! Yes, you! Stand still, laddie!"

a good quote would be another Beatles one: 'Yesterday all our troubles seemed so far away, but now it seems they're here to stay'.

you could tie it in with cuurent events.

if the lyrics are wrong, then it's probably the Joker, steve miller band, but if they're right, i don't know.

How I got into classic rock? Saw Yellow Submarine, and I fell in love with Nowhere Man. I also went to the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame two years later, and that helped a bunch.

Yeah, that Strawberry Fields Forever quote is one of the best (I also love the way Lennon sings that part). Here's mine:

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

(please god I didn't flip it around, I can't check for I'm at school).

Paranoidd 10-12-2004 12:21 PM

Rock and Roll quote?

Hmmmm

"Lots of people talk and few of them know, soul of woman was created below."

Jeez, any verse of Dazed & Confused is quotable.

Mardy 10-12-2004 12:56 PM

Am I alone if I say that Stairway to Heaven is not as great as the ru our says? IMO When the Levee Breaks is better, and a lot of others. Still a good song though, great song.

Dark Hero 10-12-2004 01:31 PM

My dad got me into it. He let me borrow a whole bunch of his old tapes. I bought blank tapes and recorded them to it.

My dad gave me DSOTM, and told me to go listen to it. I did and that's when it all started for me.

Kingofdudes 10-12-2004 02:09 PM

Even though im not as big as a classic rock nut as everyone here, hearing Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2 got me into some classic rock.

Your not alone :)

I think most real Zep fans would agree that there are better Zep songs than Stairway. I think it gets alot of recognition cause it was (more or less) the first popular power ballad,

My personal favourites would be Over the hills and far away, or the Rain Song, or the Immigrant Song.

Have any mxers been to any real Zeppelin concert? (ie. one with all of the classic members)

Dark Hero 10-12-2004 02:49 PM

I like Misty Mountain Hop.

Woodstock 10-12-2004 03:32 PM

When The Levee Breaks is one of my favorites along with
Babe Im Gonna Leave You.

:gasp: Me and Lunch are the official co-presidents of the Achilles Last Stand fan club. You shall be smited.

Achilles Last Stand IMO is FAR greater than stairway.

As Lunch said..

Stairway is only about 2 minutes of rock and roll, and that includes just the solo and the end. Achilles is 10 minutes of rock.

But, it's ok... I'm not complaining or anything...

the mighty zep 10-12-2004 04:15 PM

Achlles last stand is undoubtably one of thebest zeppelin songs.

My favotie in probably Misty Mountain Hop...

In fact, probably every song on LZIV. I think that album blows all their other ones away. LZI is the only one that comes close

Broken Arrow 10-12-2004 04:34 PM

^.....................No.

In fact i think Zeppelin II is undefeatable(Zeppelin wise)

MalcolmYoungRock 10-12-2004 04:40 PM

Led Zeppelin II is my favorite album.

All the songs on it are great.

Broken Arrow 10-12-2004 04:42 PM

exactly my point....All the songs are excellent the variety changes and the music is really good. I am now trying to find my favourite trck on the album

its Probably Bring it on Home

Woodstock 10-12-2004 04:51 PM

Sigh, take it to the Zeppelin thread.

jonathan1987 10-12-2004 04:53 PM
