New album out, it's pretty good.
? Cob, mainstream?
The way I see it, there's 4 levels of band popularity.

1st is like the trendiest of all pop, whatever's in at the time, britney spears or whatever kids have sex to these days.

2nd is MTV2 music, where the "indie" kids go to find their totally underground scene bands like Hawthorne Heights, Lamb of God, and Gym Class Heroes. This is about where COB is.

3rd is music that you wouldn't see touch the radio with a ten foot pole, and they'd take some searching to find albums from, but if you asked on MX or such, you'd still get your share of people that are like "hey, i've heard them".

4th is local bands, plain and simple.

Yup.....

Pry her heart with gold and silver
Take your sweetheart down to the river
Dash her on the paving stones
It may break your heart to break her bones
But someone's got to do the culling of the fold

OMFG

<3 Colin Meloy

He's the singer for The Decemberists, and quite the fantastic lyricist.

It's the Charlie Hunter Novax guitar. 8 strings. 3 of them are bass strings, and the other 5 are guitar ones. I don't remember the tuning, but it's a pretty wicked instrument.

They're so awesome. It's amazing to watch Charlie play it, because he's a total beast at guitar.

Maybe I should listen to St. Anger to renew my hatred for them.

To tell the truth, I'd turn it off before the first song ends. I've only listened to the CD from start to finish once or twice, and that was back when it was released. Yeah. It sucks.

Fuck, I love that Charlie Hunter video.

Did anyone watch it the whole way through?

That sax solo > life.

Akira 11-08-2006 08:27 PM

I wish I didn't suck at the sax.
