Question regarding a metallica song

Hi, I was just wondering how difficult you would rate Sanatarium. Beginner, intermediate, experienced, insane ect. ???? I just need an objective opinion. Please don't bother with a wise-*** reply. :smoke:

it is fairly simple

it was the first song i learned and i teach it to people who don't play

its a beginner :thumb:

it will also make you better

JACKROXYOU 01-02-2005 01:02 PM

any other black album lists?

timmccarty143 01-02-2005 01:23 PM

people under-rate the black album too much, its one of my favorite albums of all time.

JACKROXYOU 01-02-2005 01:27 PM

no i think it gets what it puts out (heh put out)

its a good album, not amazing, not ****ty

just good

Now give me those lists

btoto 01-02-2005 03:05 PM

uhhhmmmm.........Black album??

1. Wherever I May Roam
2. Nothing Else Matters
3. Don't Tread On Me
4. the Unforgiven
5. Struggle Within (just for the solo)

All the rest in the album = $hit for me ! Sandman being the biggest one !

xtreme_skatah 01-02-2005 07:25 PM

I reckon Black Album is too overrated. It's not that good of an album. IT's got some good songs but I wouldn't rate it as high and RTL.

Joe 01-02-2005 07:30 PM

oh of course not. it has metallica's greatest hit ever but it's nowhere near as good as RTL or MOP

Chu 01-02-2005 09:55 PM

It's definately not a good album, RTL, MoP and KeA **** all over it.

=-fukifiknow-= 01-02-2005 10:12 PM

i've started to get really bored of metallica, i really like megadeth... i just cant stand the same solo over and over and over... kirk hammet is really a horrible guitarist in my oppinion... satriani obviously put all his effort into vai and none into hammet..
BRING BACK MUSTAINE, HE IS OFF THE DRUGS...

Metal_Dude333 01-02-2005 10:31 PM

I haven't read the whole thread but it seems that most of you don't seem to mention the "Reload" and "St. Anger" albums
The Reload album has got some great songs like The Memory Remains, Devils Dance and Prince Charming!
Well St. Anger isnt that great but i really like Dirty Window, sweet amber, some kind of monster and the unnamed feeling.
My fave songs are:
1.Harvester of Sorrow
2.Wherever i may roam
3.Master of Puppets
4.Battery
5.and Justice for All
6.One
7.Dyers eve
8.Holier than thou
9.I disappear
10.Lepper Messiah

\m/Pete\m/ 01-02-2005 11:46 PM

I hadnt listend to it in a while but I think that "Shortest Straw" probably has one the coolest solos...and not just for Metallica but ever

Mycateatsitsturds 01-03-2005 02:06 AM

Metallica sucks ballz homie g east coast PLAYAZ! Me and my homiez do crack ereyday biotch! HAHAHAH Fosizzle my nizzle!

metal_milita 01-03-2005 03:01 AM
ok ok stanger=bad ok that is over

now i meant for you to list your favorites like
1
2
3
4
...
but what ever now LIST your favorite rtl songs
MINE ARE
1.For whom the bells toll
2.fade to black
3.fight fire with fire
4.ride the lightning
5. call of ktulu
6.trapped under ice
7. creeping death
8. escape

next...
read a bit better, st.anger=good. people were too judgemental with it. In the end, the songs did keep its metallica roots, and that is HEADBANGING!

Burdcheese 01-03-2005 04:14 AM

Black Album:

Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman
Sad But True
The Unforgiven

Wherever I May Roam
Holier Than Thou
My Friend Of Misery
The Struggle Within
Of Wolf And Man
(The rest)

led_zep_luvr 01-03-2005 04:31 AM

1. ride the lightning
2. master of puppets
3. kill em all
4. ...and justice for all
5. metallica (black album)
6. reload
7. st. anger
8. load

led_zep_luvr 01-03-2005 04:32 AM

i know everyone will make fun of me now for not ranking st. anger as the worst album

allyharp 01-03-2005 05:04 AM
all of you guys that have been to a metallica concert, what would you say their most electrifying song is, where they get into it the most
I'm not sure what song I'd say they get into most, Master of Puppets is always a good one, but you cannot describe the feeling when you hear the Ecstacy of Gold at your first Metallica gig.

LiZZySkYnRd7^ 01-03-2005 05:57 AM

lol......its all I know how to play, the harmonics on the intro to sanetarium. The point is, I look and feel cool playing it.

Burdcheese 01-03-2005 05:58 AM
i know everyone will make fun of me now for not ranking st. anger as the worst album
Consider yourself made fun of.

Right - mine:

S&M
Master of Puppets
Ride the Lightning
The Black Album
Load
...And Justice For All (Only this high because of One)
Garage Inc.
Reload
St. Anger

I don't have Kill 'Em All - so I won't rank it

DisposableHeroes 01-03-2005 06:04 AM
you cannot describe the feeling when you hear the Ecstacy of Gold at your first Metallica gig.
your not wrong there :thumb:

Squirrel 01-03-2005 06:36 AM

Bump.

Burdcheese 01-03-2005 06:37 AM

The Ecstasy of Gold is simply put one of the best pieces of music ever written.

I still remember the first time I heard it in the Good, the Bad and the Ugly with Tuco running round the graveyard :thumb:

munky_magik 01-03-2005 06:40 AM

Squirrel 01-03-2005 06:52 AM

They're not really worth reading anyway :p

Burdcheese 01-03-2005 07:13 AM
where have you seen Metallica Burdcheese? I saw them in Earl's court in December '03 and at Dowload 2004
Tragically - I haven't.

Because of evil circumstances I missed both of those. I remain pissed off about that (especially Download - fucking maths exam the day after). Also my plans to go over either to Dublin or Paris to see them fell through for being too expensive

I will however go and see them next time they're here whatever happens (Though I'll probably miss Download again)

munky_magik 01-03-2005 07:16 AM

*saw them at Reading '03*
they were one of about 3 bands that I actually managed to go and see

DisposableHeroes 01-03-2005 07:19 AM

ah that sucks, well they are bound to play this year what with recording a new album and all. I only saw them at Earl's court out of sheer luck

munky_magik 01-03-2005 07:21 AM

I didn't go but I've got a shirt from the Earl's court gig :)

DisposableHeroes 01-03-2005 07:25 AM

how'd you manage that?

munky_magik 01-03-2005 07:30 AM

My bro got one for me

DisposableHeroes 01-03-2005 07:36 AM

they played a good set that night, Fight Fire With Fire \m/

munky_magik 01-03-2005 07:49 AM

yea, well I wouldn't really know now would I? :p
