I thought you could get mono a bunch of times....
Yeah ... I had it 3 times.

:amaze:

e p 09-25-2004 09:33 PM

I've had it once.

:amaze: 09-25-2004 09:37 PM

Yeah, I did a report on it a couple weeks ago ... did you know that most people have it by the time they are 35, but most people are unaware because they don't show sypmtoms.
Doctor told me people can only get mono once. Like the chicken pocks. I had the pleasure of having it this summer. Oh what a joy...
No way. It's pretty common for it to keep coming back. I've had it once, but that was during mock exams last year, and that was hell on earth.

Edit: Year before last.

gaslight 09-25-2004 09:44 PM

What is mono? What are the symptoms? I've never heard of it in Australia.

e p 09-25-2004 09:46 PM

It's a disease that lowers your white blood cell count and is supposedly "the kissing disease." It can make you weak for about 6 weeks or so.

wonder_steve 09-25-2004 09:48 PM

I feel lucky being in Australia, we just have sea snakes and Steve Erwin to worry about.

e p 09-25-2004 09:51 PM

Don't forget the deadly funnel web spider. That's a big'n she is, mate.

e p 09-25-2004 09:57 PM

Aye.

But you also have the noble kanagaroo, which will make up for any deadly disease.

Mate.

:amaze: 09-25-2004 09:57 PM

Your lymph nodes also swell. Many people have flu-like symptoms as well that include sore muscles and vomiting. It's caused by the epstien-barr virus.
