No, we have too many official threads as it is. Just post in one of the other Darkness threads that has already been made, rather than making yet another that is the "official" Darkness thread.

Those threads don't work. A lot of it turns out to be spam and will die a day later.

its really not a bad idea, if it got stickied, then no one or few people would make those annoying thread every five seconds.

I don't know about everyone else, but I think that 100000 people posting their e-mail in every single thread for uploads is annoying as hell.

I was wondering if it would be possible to upload the album, take a screenshot of the link, and host the sceenshot (or something)? That would be way better in my opinion.

At least something should be done. I'm really getting tired of every other person in a thread asking to leech free music.

That's a good idea. Instead of sending the links out to everyone's email you just post a screenshot...is that legal though?

There's nothing illegal about hosting screenshots. It isn't a direct link to the upload or anything.

Please it would weed out the people who aren't smart enough to look at the screenshot and type the link without screwing up.

I'm not sure if this would be a good idea, cause the download URL's are long and weird, and since you could not just copy the link it would mean typing out some weird link with weird random numbers and letters.

but atleast than you've done something to get this stuff instead of just leeching.

maybe conceal it in a word document would work though :)

However it's done, I think that this "SEND ME FREE STUFF K THX *email*" needs to end. Once one e-mail is posted for an upload, 10 more people post theirs. The leeching and downloading is about 100x worse, literally, than it was when YSI was allowed.

I think making everyone type out the URL would actually be a good idea, because at least then they have to do a bit of work for the music.

indeed, If really want the music they should do some effort to get it, nothing wrong with that.

I'm suscribed to two mailing lists right now, but I hardly ever download of any, it's because I don't really like downloading.

But I want to be a bit informed on what is being spread around MX, and just to keep up with albums and bands in general.

But I agree that this leeching is terrible, I think about 10.000 albums are beind dowloaded in total every month, which is a huge amount to say the least.

I hope more people will actually buy stuff, but that's just me.

I think this screenshot is a good idea

One suggestion is that all of the mailing lists should be closed, and all the threadstarters to those threads should collaborate into one humongous thread. From there, they can post their screenshots/there can be one mass e-mailing, and people can select whether or not to download or not.

Personally, I don't download very often, if at all, because I don't like cheating artists and I have a tremendously slow connection at my permanent residence. I implement a try-it-before-you-buy-it approach, otherwise.

This is why I like the Request Music thread moreso than an entire album, but that's because that's just me, heh.

The only problem I have with the mailing list is they flood up they first page to often, last time I counted their were seven mailing lists on the front page. It's not that I have a problem with it it's just...like Jom said if they would be in one thread it could be all in one huge coversation rather then spread through.

The only ones I'm actually getting are the Daily Upload and the Metal one.

Everything else should be closed, seeing they aren't being sent out.

I know it's not breaking any specific rules, but this isn't going anywhere, it will end up in hate and spam.

I also don't like the mailing list threads much. The request music thread can be immensely helpful, but all the mailing list ones just seem..wrong. To me.

I feel it's kind of wrong too. I'm all for buying and supporting artists and here I am downloading cds from these lists. I don't really know what to think. I really like the Request thread
