I'm bumping this because it didn't get nearly as many laughs as I thought it would :(

If anything, read Med's last three lines. That's the best part.

I'll edit in more stuff when I catch up with the thread.
No, stop saying that. You're wrong and you know you're wrong :)

A) Times = all Dylan material. Freewheelin' had lots of cover material
B) Dylan has yet to match his lyrical prowess prior to Times and from Times onwards: he has never matched the overall lyrical narrative quality he peaked with on this album
C) His voice is better (marginally) on this album
D) God on our side
E) Title track
F) Only A Pawn In Their Game
G) Boots Of Spanish Leather
H) Ballad Of Hollis Brown
I) The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll
J) Stfu :smash:

I amde dinner tonight. Tillapia, water chesnuts, read and yellow peppers, Spanish onions, lime juice + zest, dried cayenne pepper, pineapple and passionfruit nectar and coconut milk on rice garnished with baby spinach leaves and sliced star fruit. It was good.

I have had a bit much to drink. I am very horny and need that lovely lady right now. I am in an oral sex mood to be followed up by thew real thing. I can't beleive I didn't spend the night with her last night like I could've. Why did I bother to go pick up my brother? There was even alcohol last night! and a nice warm bed and I had a box of ribbed condoms in my pockety. Oh well, I'll see her on Wednesday then skip dance class with her on thursday and get it on. Maybe I'll even dig up a Marvin Gaye tape. WQeeeeeeeha. I think I'll go driunk more. The wine is good.

ATM 05-15-2005 06:36 PM

 You use the ribbed kind?

Or her pleasure. I used extra lube at first because she had only had sex twice before me an apparently he had a small *****. Our mutrual best friend pulled me aside and gave me a talk about how I needed to use ones that would be a little smoother after the first time we had sex. now she's been worked past that. ****, I want some of that. I want one of those white trash t shirts that says "Little Poontang Please?"

The lesson, as always: White guys are a hundred times funnier when they're drunk

thickasabrick 05-15-2005 09:07 PM

Anyone here listen to Coldplay? They have a new single out, and I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about a new album. They are due for a new album anytime now, although they seem to like taking big breaks in between their albums. Their official site doesn't give much good information.

Illmatic 05-15-2005 09:15 PM

I hate Coldplay.

Just your average sterile British wuss-rock band. These guys make Dave Matthews look like Suge Knight.

You've never been so wrong in your life. Coldplay are musical geniuses and are bringing soul and musical integrity back into mainstream music.

I actually used to think they sucked too, I had only heard their singles on the radio/TV, then someone lent me one of their albums. I listen to it just about daily now.

I listened to "A Rush of Blood to the Head".

It sucked.

I hate Coldplay.

I hate their bland, radio-friendly alt-rock tunes, I especially hate their donkey-faced "sensitive man with a piano" frontman.

They're no different than insipid, safe bands like Travis or Snow Patrol.

ATM 05-16-2005 12:40 AM

I'm a big Coldplay fan.

Coldplay is a band that capitalizes on using the same four chords to create a falsified, highly romanticized atmosphere of "love".

For fuck's sake, their biggest artistic achievement is a music video that is played in reverse.

ArcLite 05-16-2005 12:45 AM

I've only heard that Clocks song and everytime I hear it it reminds me of my trip to South Padre Island. We drove down from MN, about 26 hours, and proabaly heard it on the radio about 50 times.

To each is own.

You may hear a few simple chords and corny lyrics, but I hear good music that I can relax too.

Edit: Looks like another vampire is making his appearance

Illmatic 05-16-2005 12:48 AM

Hi cj.

Just me being angry over Coldplay

They infuriate me beyond belief.

ATM half-proves my point. "I can relax too". You need to shut your mind off to to enjoy these assclowns.

EDIT: I'm going to try to go back to sleep.

I was planning on starting a PT cover today, but no one has a GP4 tab for Wedding Nails for making a backing track, so I'm gonna wait. Way too lazy to make my own drums and bass for a song like that. So I decided to relax and play a For Whom The Bell Tolls cover. I have it about half done, should be able to finish this morning. Easy song, but I always enjoy playing those being as you saw how much of a guitar virtuoso I am...

ATM 05-16-2005 01:01 AM

You are too hard on yourself.

John even said after you left that you are a good guitarist.

I downloaded Deadwing today, and I love it. I'm going to go out and buy it, though, since I don't really like downloading full albums.

ArcLite 05-16-2005 01:07 AM

Yeah, if I can't find it in a store I'll probably Amazon it. I'm the same way. DLing has been one of my greatest friends in music for finding new bands and stuff, but I still like to buy albums I like and support the bands. As far as my axing, yeah, I'm ok...but only good if I lied and said I've been playing for one year. I'm working at it though. That was fun as hell for me having our jam session. I've never played with more than a bassist.

ATM 05-16-2005 01:09 AM

Exactly. Downloading has allowed me to find so many new bands, and to open my mind to new genres.

After jamming with a drummer, you might miss it the next time you are playing guitar.

How would you rate my playing?

ArcLite 05-16-2005 01:24 AM

Rate your playing? I don't believe I'm in any position to rightfully do so. I will say your are a better improv lead player than me. Lets just settle on "we both have a lot of work to do." As I said though, I wish we were closer so we could jam more often. I'm just a much better rhythem guitarist. I know I didn't pull out anything impressive while we were playing, but when I'm "on" I can get some pretty decent stuff going, especially for more metalic riffs. It made me want to go put ads up in the music shops.

ATM 05-16-2005 01:29 AM

I'm pretty much the same way.

Some days are better then others.

Yea, if you lived around here I'm sure we would jam every week.

ArcLite 05-16-2005 01:38 AM

I am now a bit pissed. I was hoping to catch that Gigantour from the beginning, but now that Symphony X decided to join as well = will be one ace show. However, the damn show is coming nowhere near me. Hopefully Dave will add some more dates.

ATM 05-16-2005 01:50 AM

Well if it heads up this way, you are welcome to come up for the show.

I want to go to as many concerts as possible.

Yes I hope he does, but i seriously doubt he will add a date for NM. he just skips past me and goes from texas to arizona. Now i know your saying"but thats close man" its actually not. It's gonna be a 5 hour drive to dallas or tucson from albuquerque. Man I really want to see Megadeth :(

general studies exam today! it'll be a piece of piss

5 hours? Meh. Just ask ATM. I drove 5 hours just for Porcupine Tree, and I definitely would for Gigantour.

Lord A: Nice to see "piece of piss" used. It makes no sense at all but I use it quite frequently.
