In other news, the Megadeth Sydney show is now 18+ so I am tossing up whether to buy a ticket when they go on sale tomorrow. They're about my favourite band, even with the line-up changes. I love the new record. I'm 18 in September.
In England i couldn't go becuase you had to be 18 to go to some of the venues  .

RCA: Helstar are good, everyone check them out

Apocalyptic Raids 03-09-2005 02:54 PM

yep the site says sydney is 18+ :upset:

That's what's good about it. Thrash should be ceaseless, uncompromising brutality!
NP: Sodom - Brandish The Sceptre

i while back i posted, that testament sucks,

i take that back, they rock, i listend to about 3 songs and they sucked so i gave up on them. but now, there one of my favorite bands. i like the once in awhile growl.

also ive liked anthrax for awhile now but there not as heavy as testament or slayer, there more when im in a good mood, or exited about something i pop in anthrax, but if im in a bad mood, testament or slayer is going in my cd player,
anybody agree with these couple of statements, or am i just a big fool?

Only the new Testament has growls... it's the old stuff, the older the better, that's where it's at.

And yeah, Anthrax are definitely more upbeat than Slayer. Probably why I never liked them much, I'm always in a foul mood.

I don't know if anyone cares, but here are some death metal vocals I recorded. No effects or anything.

I never would have guessed.

Anyway, I bought two new albums today. Got my filthy hands on the new Priest album, which I'm yet to listen to. Also! I finally found Mental Vortex in JB Hi-Fi for a mere $21, so I'm happy.

NP: Sepultura - Escape To The Void

Apocalyptic Raids 03-10-2005 12:48 AM

Liking the new priest ThrashMaster?

NP: Fabulous Disaster - Exodus (Live off Good Friendly Violent Fun)

ThrashMaster27 03-10-2005 12:51 AM

Just listening to it now funnily enough. I'm liking it very much, everything seems solid, especially Scott Travis' Drumming.

SLATANIC-666 03-10-2005 02:59 AM

Nice growls there Dargon :thumb: Kinda reminds me of The Curse by Sepultura, which sounds like burping :p

NP: Slayer - Hell Awaits

Apocalyptic Raids 03-10-2005 03:00 AM

Cool

NP: Sadus - Certain Death

ThrashMaster27 03-10-2005 03:05 AM

Hmmm, Mental Vortex is pretty good. Nowhere near the class of the first 3 albums but good. Semtex Revolution is the stand out track.

What the hell's with Coroner doing weird covers though? Hendrix and The Beatles? very strange.

Me. 4 tracks are good, the rest is forgettable and groove-laden.

Those four tracks are:

A Pound Of Flesh
Within Your Eyes
Old School (VERY punkish but so what)
Play The Ace (Kind of bland, but still listenable)

Is Mental Vortex the slower one? I really like the cover of Purple Haze, but i haven't heard the Beatles one.

LordDargon 03-10-2005 02:53 PM

Thanks for the Helstar tipoff. What's the best album to get?

NP: Helstar - Baptized in Blood

That's because a money-hungry, past-their-prime heavy metal band cannot cover good music.

Listen to their '87 garage days album.. wasn't too bad.

Nosferatu.

Corporal Compendia 03-10-2005 06:25 PM

So guess who's blasting Running Wild right now? ME!

If you don't think Gates To Purgatory rocks, you're probably totally gay.

*Yes, this post was pretty well pointless.*

ForiegnPenguin 03-10-2005 06:51 PM

whatduffhuck7 03-10-2005 06:52 PM

RCA 03-10-2005 07:50 PM

Metal Church's cover of "Highway Star" is the best cover I've heard. Ever.

Possible Coroner Reunion!?! Omg!!

The legendary technical metal band CORONER from Zurich, Switzerland have been asked to take part in a metal festival to take place in Chicago in late 2005. Guitarist Tommy Vetterli (a.k.a. Tommy T. Baron, more recently of KREATOR) was contacted and offered a headlining slot at the festival, which is reportedly being organized by producer Neil Kernon (NEVERMORE, QUEENSRŸCHE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEICIDE). If CORONER accept the offer, this will be a highly anticipated reunion of one of the most underrated technical metal bands of all time.

Anyone interested in keeping up to date on happenings with a possible CORONER reunion are encouraged to check out the "unofficial CORONER web site" at this location.

If you wish to lend your support to the idea that CORONER should participate in the upcoming festival, feel free to post on their message board and let them know (the bandmembers reportedly watch this board).

It is great indeed but not the best song on the cd, In my opinion that would go to Battallions.

ForiegnPenguin 03-10-2005 08:17 PM

S.O. that is awesome but too bad I don't live near Chicago.
