The thing i never understood was how can iron which has reacted with oxygen give you tetnus...

coffee_spiders 02-20-2007 03:47 PM

The doctor told me i could get tetanus by being bitten by a squirrel. :S

Talos 02-20-2007 03:48 PM

^ Yeah you can

I had to have all these injections when I gotten my finger bitten off by my pet rat when I was 10

Josiah 02-20-2007 03:49 PM

"tetanus is often associated with rust, especially rusty nails, but this concept is somewhat misleading. Objects that accumulate rust are often found outdoors, or in places that harbor anaerobic bacteria, but the rust itself does not cause tetanus nor does it contain more C. tetani bacteria. The rough surface of rusty metal merely provides a prime habitat for a C. tetani endospore to reside. An endospore is a non-metabolising survival structure that begins to metabolise and cause infection once in an adequate environment. Because C. tetani is an anaerobic bacterium, it, and its endospores, will thrive in an environment that lacks oxygen. Hence, stepping on an old nail (rusty or not) may result in a tetanus infection, due to the ideal bacterial breeding ground provided by the low-oxygen environment of a puncture wound."
A guy in the punk forum said he stepped on a rusty nail today =[
You're not a real punk unless you do that bro. I got thrown out of the punk forum cos I refused to stand on a rusty nail. I did however stand outside the local conservative club wearing a liberal democrat badge whilst shouting "fascists: down with fox hunting"

The Ska Man 02-20-2007 03:58 PM

yessssssssssss, its teh anerkee

coffee_spiders 02-20-2007 03:59 PM

No.

No one was in the club at the time. :upset:

I guess I just wasn't cut out to be a real political punk like Anti-Flag

Drum Phil 02-20-2007 04:03 PM

I miss having a mohawk. I can never be arsed anymore and i think it looks a bit daft these days.

Josiah 02-20-2007 04:05 PM

hahaha

I'm having a beer and pizza

the_pure_drummer 02-20-2007 04:06 PM

Do you straighten your hair phil?

I had pizza earlier :D

I want a drink.

I cant be bothered to go get one though!

The Ska Man 02-20-2007 04:07 PM

I take offense to that..I dislike Anti-flag to a large extent, a long with a lot of these really popular "punk" bands..

Punk's not 'bout politics, either, it's a about a rejection of the accepted state of mind that we are daily pummeled with. If that has any relation to politics, than so be it. Even moreso than that, though, it's about a fun time, making the most outta life.

Josiah 02-20-2007 04:09 PM

woa you are stalking me... good summation of punk.

Fo sho.

Anti Flag are the suck!!! Damn, I really don't get how people can listen and genuinely like em!

My punk = politics post was sarcasm btw.

Undisco Kidd 02-20-2007 04:10 PM

Uhm.

Punk is kind of dumb.

It's one genre of music, and a bunch of kids who think that tattered clothes, goofy shoes, and outrageous hair makes them unique.

I'll let my personality make me unique.

That's it. Punk is that very last part embodied.

But I like my clothes and I love my boots =P

Undisco Kidd 02-20-2007 04:14 PM

Beer and pizza. Blah fatty.

I'm having some chicken cordon bleu that I found a box of in the freezer.

the_pure_drummer 02-20-2007 04:15 PM

That right there is a fashion punk.
I'll let my personality make me unique.
And that is more along the lines of a real punk.

No, what I said was more along the lines of a sensible person.

People expressed themselves through their personalities hundreds of years before 'punk' existed.

the_pure_drummer 02-20-2007 04:27 PM

My glass of milk was nice.

If anybody cared.

Josiah did!

Xorkofski 02-20-2007 04:28 PM

lol at lime...

punks are cool... real punk is long gone tho...

The Ska Man 02-20-2007 04:30 PM

My friend's obssessed with milk. He goes through a gallon by himself in a couple of days, every couple of days. I usually only have it with cereal or rather rarely by itself, BUT ONLY if it has ice in it.

Also.to corofski...punk is kinda dead, but the idea and the lifestyles still continue to exist. It's begging for an upstart, though

Undisco Kidd 02-20-2007 04:30 PM

Highschool social sterotypes are all dumb.
