Are Iron Maiden gonna play anywhere else in the UK this year apart from Reading & Leeds? I wanna see them but the festival line-up was so poor this year that I couldn't bring myself (even for the love of Maiden) to get a ticket.

no, reading and leeds only. i'm going to leeds, on the friday, just for maiden

Locks 04-02-2005 08:52 AM

****, looks like I'm going to have to fork out for Reading on Sunday. On the plus side I get to throw **** at Marilyn Manson.

Josh 04-02-2005 12:15 PM

hahahahahahaha. unfortunately i'm going to have to get to the front during manson so i'm at the front for maiden.

RIP Dime 04-02-2005 12:17 PM

is there anyone out there who liked Maiden better before Dickinson versus after he joined?

Josh 04-02-2005 12:19 PM

personally no, but i prefer Di'Anno to Blaze.

RIP Dime 04-02-2005 12:21 PM

well i do like Dickinson better too but ive had arguments with people who thought Di'anno much better...i like all maidens stuff tho its all good

vashts80 04-02-2005 02:04 PM

Bruze > Blaze > Paul

Paul would not have fit what came after the self-titled and Killers, he was too "punky" whereas Bruce had the range and that "x factor" (pun not intended) for the rest of the stuff.

progression though.
Learn Revelations, my favourite song for the Bass. I love the verse bit, it's a good stretch. :thumb:

I personally like Blaze, each time I listen to one of his songs, I like some more.

Dickinson > Blaze > Dianno.

Nickos really name is Michael Henry McBrain, Bruce Dickinsons real name is Paul Bruce Dickinson and has his own Record Company called Air Raid Recods.

Just found this cool site, it's got loads of facts on it. Clicky

Dickinson > Dianno > Blaze.

I was thinkin of learning Montsegur on Drums. I just looked at the tab.

What is that song on the Early days. You have to watch that 20th century, thingy. Its where Clive is keeping the rythm with the bass drum then does a snare roll and into the beat. Anyone know what it is?

I was just reading those facts. Whats the deal with the feud between Bruce and Metallica?

flamesofbodom 04-02-2005 08:52 PM

I never knew there was one...

i_sold_my_soul_to_rocknroll 04-02-2005 10:31 PM

what about flight of icarus, number of the beast and brave new world? maybe go so far as to say run to the hills but thats really pushing it as its overrated

Fiah 04-03-2005 02:37 AM

Iron Maiden is the best metal band ever imo. Bruce vocals are insane , dave murray just striaght up TEARS IT UP , and nicko is the best drummer on earth.

My take on Maiden =)

FlyingPaul_83 04-03-2005 01:08 PM

Josh 04-03-2005 01:29 PM

i voted adrian and dave :thumb: how many go through from each poll?

led_zep_luvr 04-03-2005 02:04 PM

can anyone suggest me some fairly easy song by iron maiden that song good with just one guitarist. thanks in advance for any help.

( not that any maiden songs are easy )

led_zep_luvr 04-03-2005 02:09 PM

DiAnno > dickinson > blaze

i think di anno is the best because of the guitar work they did when he was in the band. now most of their songs are galloping power chords. like the trooper, flight of icarus, and run to the hills for example. they are great songs anyways but the guitar work is nothing compared to older songs like "phantom of the opera"

edit: sorry for the double post.

YDload 04-03-2005 02:26 PM

I voted for the two Maiden guitarists in the polls, even though I really like Dave Mustaine and Kim Thayil.

Also, I have to say that "Prowler" is the best opening song ever. And it's a lot of fun to play.

Sadly, Becker won't make it through.
Also, I have to say that "Where Eagles Dare" is the best opening song ever. And it's a lot of fun to play.
Fix'd

YDload 04-03-2005 03:37 PM
Fix'd
No way, that's probably their least impressive opening song. It's too long and plodding, but if you're a drummer I guess I could relate.

"Prowler" is a lot of fun to play on bass, and probably guitar too.

GurS 04-03-2005 03:39 PM

/lists all openers better than prowler:

Where Eagles Dare
Aces High
Moonchild
BQOBD
Sign Of The Cross
The Wickerman

Deth 04-03-2005 03:48 PM

Every Maiden opener is awesome. All of them.

Voted for Gilmour and Mustaine. Sorry guys.
