I listen to a few consistently. Have you heard Explosions In The Sky?
Not yet, though its probably the next progression from my mogwai obsession
Otherside of the country from me :'( BTW, AJG, how fast is your internet?
Good ol' broadband, though the exact speed im not sure on, as we've apparently been upgraded recently on our ISP. Then again, im not sure what it was before, though ill guess at 128 stuffs per whatevers (too tired to pretend to know what im on about :( ) |
Lateralus is a brilliant album, but I kinda feel it falls under its own weight sometimes. After the title track or maybe once Disposition has slowed my mood down I kinda feel like I need a break if I'm really focusing on the music, and i'm sure other people would fall before this point.
I do love the album as a whole, but it's a little too long, by say, 10 or 20 minutes, IMO. That's not to say it isn't an amazing, wonderful, life changing album. Because it has been all of those things, but it's certainly not perfection. I hope on their next release they could cut down (not necesserally out) some of the more unnecessary parts. Though I'm sure some people would disagree and say "every part is necessary for the perfection that is Lateralus!" I personally never really "got" Triad to the extent where some people say it's so awesome, though I really like Reflection and Disposition. Sure, Triad's tone is sweet, and it has some coll sounding bits, but it's just more or less a powerchord jamm, surely? |

Lateralus is definately not perfect, although like Aenima (can some remind of the alt key to do the AE logo) it does has it's moments (and songs) of brilliance. Hopefully, the next album will bring something to the Tool sound that we havent heard before, and it will become somthing we can all embrace and choose to love. Also, with the new opening page at toolband, does anyone know if the page on lachromenchy (majory sp?) still exists? and if so, how would I get back to it? |
I love Disposition and Triad, but I'm just not into Reflection (even though I listen to it every time). The only thing I really like about it is the tabla playing. Otherwise, it's a rather boring eleven minutes after the first couple of times you listen to it. My only real problem with Lateralus.

Triad bores me. I <3 disposition with a passion. The way the band gel in that song is just great. Reflection has some great moments but it is too lengthy imo. And triad, well yeah 'powechord jam' kinda sums it up, it's just bringing the album to a close really.

Æ = Alt + 0198
Triad is my least favorite of those three songs. I think Reflection is perfection (/lame rhyme) and Disposition is amazing. |

Try the URL if you remember it. I dont think Blair would take it down completely |
Not any proper style tours. They've played shows across japan, and they'll be performing at the Final Fantasy concert in LA.
I should start a petition to get them playing other countries. They would make a good festival addition.
The Black Mages are freaking cool. I've only heard Jenova and Those who Fight Further, but man, kickass!!! Anyone wanna upload for FFVII covers for me? (a) |

cant stand tool... too slow... too, gay... i've heard a few songs my ex-friend Shaun sent me, they sucked...
|
Im sure our music catalogue is well stocked with all kinds of crap then.
Seriously, think before posting such empty crits in a thread for Tool fans. |

Someone has ADD. |
I think I'm retarded. I still can't do the Aenima logo.

I think I will. |
I really liked Lateralus. Probably more than the other albums. But Aenema was a good album. Though I would have liked more real songs it.
How exactly do you do the AE logo? |
Im starting to listen to more of tools stuff when they had Paul.
|
Ænima logo - HOLD DOWN Alt and then, on your keyboard's number pad (as you're holding ALT), type the numbers 0198
|

Your clearly a moron, and not just because you don't like Tool. Using the word "gay" to describe something you dislike is just plain stupid, not to mention you like garbage like ateyu or whatever that "band" is called. Grow up. |

Stupid Americans with your long way of doing things :p 146 does it for me |

In chains, and anyone else interested... If you look for a lil red dot floating around the bottom of the screen, you can click it and up pops an article on lachrymology written by Blair. :) /can't believe he was first to spot that... |
I link to the news page on my bookmarks. So I never see the first screen.

Anyone in here a Lynch fan? |
/lame excuse :p
I haven't actually got round to reading the article yet. Too much darn revision....maths exam in a week... /Sh!ts self |
The article is really cool, thanks clearvision...
I just read it by the way. |
I always thought that the red dot was another dead pixel on my screen.
And Kage, enlighten me on Lynch. Not ringing a bell |

Anyone in here a Lynch fan?
Not necessarily a Lynch fan, but I definitely enjoy the films from that other strange, well-known David, Fincher. |
I always thought that the red dot was another dead pixel on my screen.
And Kage, enlighten me on Lynch. Not ringing a bell
He's a filmmaker who is most praised for movies like Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, and my personal all-time favorite movie, Mulholland Drive. |
