I'm trying to listen to the first Suede album but I keep going back to Sun Kil Moon.
Much <3 for that album.

Nina Simone - My Baby Just Cares For Me

Tangy zizzle 08-29-2005 08:23 PM

That's nice dear.

Tangy zizzle 08-29-2005 08:47 PM

My baby can't talk yet, but sure when she can she'll express some kind of love toward me.

Robert Crumb 08-29-2005 10:40 PM

Suprisingly, I'm not listening to soul.
Now I'm listening to Mr. Bungle - California

I've been putting off listening to this CD again, even though I love it so much. Then "pink cigarette" came up on random play, and I had to listen to it all.
Oh you and Mr. Bungle.

sketchyjoe 08-30-2005 06:22 AM

The All Girl Summer Fun Band.

Iai 08-30-2005 06:26 AM

Wait....I thought you got your name changed to TheJackOfHearts? Or did someone just steal your avatar?

OrbDragon 08-30-2005 06:48 AM

Today I just got:

Avalanches - Since I Left You
R.E.M. - Automatic For The People
Sade - Promise
Cake - Fashion Nugget

They are good...all four of 'em...especially the Avalanches one. It's basically one huge mix on cd. Loving every second of it.

Iai 08-30-2005 07:03 AM

I never could get into that Avalanches record.

I'm on a Prince kick right now, having just come off a DFA 1979 one.

I was banned.

The Dixie Dregs - What If
Asobi Seksu - s/t
Dungen - Ta Det Lugnt

sketchyjoe 08-30-2005 10:26 AM

I downloaded Two Gallants - The Throes and it's seriously amazing. I haven't been so immediately impressed with an album in ages. It reminds me of 60s Dylan in places and the Violent Femmes in others.

The NPC 08-30-2005 12:21 PM

It's been a Buddy Holly day.

Rockafella 08-30-2005 12:39 PM

This Sigur Ros character seems interesting...

Ornery Cephalopod 08-30-2005 12:45 PM
Such an accurate name for that album. Clutch'd be so good to see live.
Indeed. I just missed a chance to see them a couple months back, and I was none too pleased about it.

Today was my first day of school. On the school bus and between classes I rocked out to:

Wire
The Decemberists
Gang of Four

Changed your mind about Go4? I thought I saw you posting something about disliking them some time ago.

Zappa 08-30-2005 01:36 PM

I did used to dislike them. I think perhaps rocking out to them louder and under headphones has favorably swayed my opinion of them.

The NPC 08-30-2005 02:33 PM

Hmm, New Day Rising still is beating out Zen Arcade in the Husker department in my head.

asymm 08-30-2005 06:37 PM

The Replacements - Let It Be
Kanye West - Late Registration

Little Man being Erased 08-30-2005 07:44 PM

Just recently picked up:

The Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen
Gang of Four - Entertainment!

After a few listens, I'd say they're both great records.

Meh Gentlemen isn't that great.

Little Man being Erased 08-30-2005 07:51 PM

I like it quite a bit, so far.

pixiesfanyo 08-30-2005 07:55 PM
At least someone else doesn't think so. I hate saying that because I get crucified by the fanboys.
Lots of people don't think it's great.

Still a solid album.

Smackers 08-30-2005 08:15 PM

The Residents
Idiot Flesh

ATM 08-30-2005 09:53 PM

Edan
J-Zone
MF Doom

It was a hip hop kind of day, especially considering I met Biz Markie.

Tangy zizzle 08-30-2005 10:32 PM

You did? You lucky bastard! I've loved the Biz since I was just a wee fella.

Today 'twas:

mclusky - Do Dallas
Nick Cave - No More Shall We Part
Trinity Roots
Straitjacket Fits

Liberi Fatali 08-30-2005 10:37 PM

Mmm Trinity Roots, got to love True. One of the only quality acts coming out of Wellington at the moment, along with Rhian Sheehan. Who's album Tiny Blue Biosphere I just bought on the weekend, and am loving.
