Well.. I've never heard of him.

What songs of his are like.. famous. Maybe I've heard it... I dunno.

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 01:10 PM

Seriously?

Johnny Winter rocks, if you like blues. Google it, you'll see him pop up everywhere.

He's still alive, too. Albino guy with long white hair, really trippy looking. Great guitarist and musician, definitely check him out. Progressive Blues and Second Winter are great CD's.

His brother was Edgar winter, who did that song Frankenstein.

Broken Arrow 09-24-2004 01:13 PM

I know him he was in the lastest issue of Guitar World? or Guitar One?

Thats usually the problem with talking about classic rock bands that aren't popular.

Guitar World. I read about him. Also I thought of the same lyrics when I read the post about the Beatles' The End.

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 01:24 PM

Yes he was, I haven't read all of that issue yet. Poor guy looks really bad these days.

slowhand 09-24-2004 01:28 PM

Maybe I'll check him out. I'm really getting into the mood of looking the not-so-well-known classic rock artist. A friend and I start introduce each other to different sort of bands and things. He's the one who first made me listen to Blind Faith (which I love) and I got him into Cream.

So yeah, hopefully I'll find new artist that are cool. And now that I'm getting heavily into blues rock, I might check out this Johnny Winter as well.
Thats usually the problem with talking about classic rock bands that aren't popular.
I think the actual problem is that, because the fact that not all of us know a certain muscician or band, we tend not to talk about them.

Thats what I was trying to say.

slowhand 09-24-2004 01:36 PM

Then... I agree?

Now, more unknown, cool classic rock bands!

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 01:43 PM

Sam Gopal. Really good 60's psychedelic rock band.

You'd never guess who the singer was.

slowhand 09-24-2004 02:10 PM

I don't know if that's a trick question or not...

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 02:12 PM

He's a good bass player, and he's in a band which has put out consistently good albums for the past 20-30 years.

Hearing him sing on a pyschedelic album is just plain cool.

jpj 09-24-2004 02:31 PM

uh...sunny leslie

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 02:33 PM

Nope...Lemmy of Motorhead.

They only did one album that I know of: Sam Gopal - Escalator

And for blusey/pysch rock, it's pretty good.

jpj 09-24-2004 02:35 PM

circuit city disagrees

I Wish to remain unnamed 09-24-2004 02:37 PM

jpj 09-24-2004 02:44 PM

i went to their website to listen to some soundclips of the sam gopal cd and it also gives the credits on the album. it didnt say anything about lemmy. did he only play with them live or something?

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 02:44 PM

Nope, he did lead guitar, bass, and vocals on the album.

jpj 09-24-2004 02:45 PM

ah, i guess circuit city isnt as reliable as i thought :upset:

It's funny when these type of people only read the first page and say "Oh Em Geez0rs ThAt iS sO LiKe Me!!11" They don't know that they are interrupting a conversation. Read please, not just the first page but the other 300 something pages.

Broken Arrow 09-24-2004 05:14 PM

It's better when they quote the first page

thickasabrick 09-24-2004 05:37 PM

sorry if i'm interupting a conversation...but i was just reading the last page. someone was mentioning johnny winter? i have an edger winter group album and i like it. does johnny winter do the same kind of music as his brother (they are brothers right?) or does he do different stuff?

BludgeonySteve 09-24-2004 05:41 PM

Will the debate be tonight or tomorrow?

MalcolmYoungRock 09-24-2004 05:41 PM

Tonight I believe.

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 05:50 PM
Hawkwind
