Meatplow 11-03-2009 10:13 AM

anyone heard Toroidh's European Trilogy before? I was recommended it

http://www.discogs.com/Toroidh-European-Trilogy/release/782459

Txus 11-03-2009 10:23 AM

I only have Toroidh's Testament album and its pretty good. It has this harsh sound that stands out from other album in the genre.
Reposting since it was buried under random interview crap ;)

This is going on Vol. 3 of the Free Music feature, but I figured I'd post it here first...

The band is called The Shizit and they play a heavy brand of industrial that seems to have a pretty strong hardcore punk influence... the album is free (legally) and really good:

http://www.glitchmode.com/the-shizit/

Edit: I had only listened to the first two tracks when I posted this, but I just finished it... this is easily the coolest industrial album released this year (at least that I've heard). It's got awesome riffs, it's heavy as ****, cool samples and tons of energy.
Yeah just got round to listening to this, thanks for sharing. It's very impressive.

I wouldn't ignore this one guys.

Meatplow 11-04-2009 10:43 AM

Megaptera's The Curse of the Scarecrow is alright, some dark ambient

Txus 11-04-2009 02:11 PM

I've been listening to quite some Arditi and In Slaughter Natives lately. It feel so good to listen to some Martial Industrial at least once a day.

Meatplow 11-05-2009 12:27 AM

Just woke up listening to Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 85-92 after a nap, not bad. I can't wait to hear his later stuff.

Aaron 11-05-2009 03:58 AM

His EPs are great. Perfect length.

Meatplow 11-05-2009 06:04 AM

i'm usually working through a discography or two and have a backed up collection of stuff people have recommended me I haven't gotten around to listening to but I gave it a shot at your insistence anyhow

give me a few industrial metal recs whilst you are here

Hmmm, I'll just rec what I've been listening to lately...

Acumen Nation - The 5ifth Column (their best album)
Skrew - Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame (Overlooked Classic)
Acylum - The Enemy (think Too Dark Park/Last Rites with a dark symphonic element)
Drown - Hold on to the Hollow (metal with industrial influence)
Neon Synthesis - Alchemy of Rebirth (kind of like Samael's industrial stuff)
Psyclon Nine -We the Fallen (black metal influenced industrial that actually doesn't suck)
Unter Null - The Failure Epiphany (harsh EBM by one woman)
Omega Lithium - Dreams In Formaline (Evanescence meets Samael)

1338 h4x0r 11-05-2009 10:30 AM
do you actually know anything about germany or do you just pretend because it's heil
god module is elite

Meatplow 11-06-2009 01:33 AM

module?

Jaundice 11-06-2009 03:41 AM

listening to vnv nation for the first time in a while, beats are foolish.

Jaundice 11-06-2009 03:47 AM

their debut Empires features foolish arpeggios.

Meatplow 11-06-2009 05:49 AM

complete foolishness

I need more synthpop. I might even listen to Severed Heads soon

1338 h4x0r 11-06-2009 07:59 AM

Jaundice tell me more about German obscenity laws

I'm dying to know now

Jaundice 11-06-2009 12:59 PM

For one, it's pretty easy for some thing to be banned on the grounds of "potentially harmful to youth." Lots of shock porn things like Body Modification Ezine aren't legal there.

Yeah def check out Severed Heads, the Pumpkin album is catchy as hell but it really isn't all that. Since The Accident is a really good mix of their earlier sound collage roots with synthpop though. Probably one of my all time favorite industrial albums.

yeah but they've got erotica on regular *** TV so it sort of balances out in the end

uh huh huh huh

"in the end"

masscows 11-06-2009 02:46 PM

Alex, I'm listening to Severed Heads on the youtubes and I likes it. I think I might buy this album next time I order cd's.

1338 h4x0r 11-06-2009 02:48 PM

it's funny that "Schwedenfilm" is slang for "porno" in Germany when Germany is one of the biggest porn motors of Europe

sweet, i'll get that Immolation album a little later

I think a lot of Severed Heads albums are out of print or really hard to find, you might be able to get it off sevcom.com if Amazon and such don't have it.

1338 h4x0r 11-07-2009 12:08 AM

does anyone else have Sophia - Deconstruction of the World

I'm not requesting I have it

The End of the Age is so ****ing baller

at the end it has a sample from a homemade video by that man Marshall Applewhite

remember the Hale-Bopp nutjobs, the Heaven's Gate cult?

yeah it's a sample of him talking over eerie music with like the sounds of power drills and whatnot in the background, like the soundtrack to an alien abduction

and he's pitchshifted down it's so ****ed up

heil

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFyD91brXnQ

the song I was talking about is better heard than explained

it really sets my hair on end

I was nine when all of this happened ... I still remember looking up at Hale-Bopp in the night sky and those reports of people who believed a spacecraft was hiding behind it, and the strange circumstances of their suicide

Meatplow 11-07-2009 04:00 AM

Nice (in a sort of eerie, morbid way).

Shpongle's latest album is ridiculously good. I haven't heard much of their other stuff though.
