Isn't that one of the kids related to the Lake Bodom murder thing?
Hes either the one that was accused of doing it, or one that got murdered...
as I said in a post above. I think it's Nils Gustafsson, the one who survived...(murdered) lol |
naw sry this is video i have it (cool video) but i meant the DVD that TMS kept talking about a couple pages back :D
yeah, the "what happened?" "dude, he fuckin spray painted his eye!" :amaze: I love that vid. I can watch that over and over. |
Nils is the one who survived with only a cut on his thigh, and is now the primary suspect.
|
leah, im on at last

So it is him in your picture? [Edit] (my new avatar is a pic of Nils Gustafsson when he was 38) |

I just figured out how to play that. Everything except the solos. |
I attempted to learn Follow The Reaper a few years ago...
Few things happened: 1. Had no idea how to tune down guitar 2. tabs may have been wrong 3. complete lack of skills Should try to learn it again sometime... |

I also attempted to learn that... I think that requires sweep picking, which i find extremely hard... FTR is a bit easier...still hella hard though. |

I don't like the punk attitude of the track titles.

Yes, Bodom needs to work on their lyricwriting and song title skills... |
Yes, Bodom needs to work on their lyricwriting and song title skills...

I'm debating whether to learn FTR or Chokehold. I'm not very good, so either one will be a challenge for me.
Go with Chokehold. It's really fun to play. I know bits and pieces of it and I'm currently working on it with the Young Guitar Alexi Laiho book that I have.
leah, im on at last
Chrissy!!! Vitun hyva!! :thumb: Did you go see the cover art, promo pics and track list for Are You Dead Yet? already? |
Yes, Bodom needs to work on their lyricwriting and song title skills...
The lyrics and songs are meant to be cheesy sounding though. That's what Bodom aims for. It is all heavily power metal influenced. |

I guess it's so people focus more on the instrumental part of it, too. Bodom isn't really known for their lyrics, but for the awesome instrumental stuff and "shredding guitar". Though singing along is fun. :D Especially when you're pissed off. |

Very true...if you could understand the lyrics. ;) |

It depends how you look at it. Power metal always has those type of lyrics. |
Very true...if you could understand the lyrics. ;)
 True. I never get Bodom lyrics off the internet either; they are so fucked up and wrong. I love singing along to Children of Decadence, Hate Crew Deathroll and Needled 27/4. ("Fuck yeah, that's me vile and obscene!") Bed of Razors is just a given. :thumb: |
A lot of thier song titles have "Bodom" in them.
I'm thinking of picking up (or downloading) a CoB album. What's a good first choice? |
I'm thinking of picking up (or downloading) a CoB album. What's a good first choice?
What albums do you have? If you have none, I would start like most of the HateCrew did; with Follow the Reaper. Then I would get Hatebreeder. It's the last Bodom album that I bought, but I think it should be 2nd. I had like this: Follow the Reaper Trashed, Lost and Strungout Something Wild Hate Crew Deathroll Hatebreeder |
I would suggest Hate Crew Deathroll.
|
I would suggest Hate Crew Deathroll.
Hate Crew Deathroll is awesome, but I don't think it shows the best that Bodom can be. For me, that album would be either Follow the Reaper or Hatebreeder; those are just unbelieveably masterful. Something Wild would be a good choice too. |
For a first impression get Trashed, Lost, And Strung-out. That way if you dont like em you didnt spend a whole lot of money :p
|

I know it's not their best, but it's the most accessable. Vocals aren't as harsh, keyboards aren't used as much, etc. |
Just get FTR. If you don't like FTR, don't get Something Wild or Hatebreeder Either. If you still want to try 'em out, get Trashed, Lost, and Strung Out. If you like that you'll like Hate Crew Deathroll.
|
Yeah, get FTR because that seems to be the album that everyone talks about. After that I would suggest Something Wild, then Hatebreeder, then Hatecrew Deathroll. I thoroughly enjoy all of their albums, so you won't go wrong with any one you get.
|
Hatebreeder is my favorite, and each album really offers something different. Follow the Reaper is less agressive, but less powermetal based than Hatebreeder. HCDR is really influenced by punk, and Something Wild is a bit more atmospheric.
|
I love the Black Metal feel of Something Wild.
|
Hatebreeder > all
It has a cool classical feel to it |
I prefer Something Wild just because it has some of Cob's most badass songs on them. These would be Deadnight Warrior, Red Light In My Eyes 1 and 2 , and Lake Bodom. All of those are great songs.

RLNME 2's intro is badass. I love how Alexi Laiho used one of Mozart's riffs. |
