....and yet its my 3rd favorite. I always liked BOLA the most. I cant find a weak song on it, even Born as Ghosts has some nice parts in it.
Read my post above and you can see my thoughts on BOLA. Self titled will always be #1, as it is my favorite album of all time. |
I like BOLA more because it holds Voiceless, Ashes, Guerilla, Fire, and Bomb, whereas S/T holds Enemy, Bullet, Killing, and Rebellion. S/T is a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery close 2nd.
|
The self-titled is my favorite, most definitely. Ah, I love RATM. I wish they were still around, but I also enjoy AUdioslave a bunch, so it's all good.

Don't forget Freedom, RATM's best track. |

Yeah, Freedom is amazing. I love how explosive it is, and the very climatic ending. Blows me away every time. :thumb: |

Born as Ghosts is one of my faves off of BoLA. Timmy C's 'bassline' in that song is fricken awesome. He's the only musician that I've seen actually take advantage of Digitech's 'signature' Ya-Ya effect. He implement's it quite well. |
Play the song like they play live and play in standard tuning. It sounds cooler that way.
Sounds good! |

FOR MUMIA! :thumb: The best part in that song when they play it live is when the band pauses after the bass and drums do their little thing. Then Zack says "anger is a gift!", then the mayhem insues. It gets me every time. Freedom is the best song ever made. Ever. **** Stairway to Heaven. :thumb: |
I can't stand the live version on "Live at the Olympic". It's too drawn out in my opinion but the almbum version blows me away every time.
|
Well 1,000th post :thumb: glad its finnally here! So little progress made on 'Vietnow' but hey! Hows it coming for the rest of you doing Vietnow?

Timmy C's bass tone when they play Freedom on that DVD is what I consider to be the best bass tone ever. |
My favorite part of freedom is right after the solo when Zakks yells out and then Tom plays that riff.
Just overall an amazing song. Easy to cover too. |

Brother, did you forget your name?
Did you lose it one the war playing tic tac toe? Yo, check the diagonal, three brothers gone, cmon Doesn't that make it three in a row? --Freedom :thumb: |

Yesterday, I finally picked up Renegades. I am actually liking it better than Evil Empire atm, but I'll give you guys a fuller interpretation after a few listens.
Also, I didn't realize this, but on my computer I had How I Could Just Kill a Man. I knew it was on there, but I didn't know it was a live version. :p |

I find Renegades to be a failry good album by RATM, doesn't compare to their Self-Titled or Evil Emprie IMO though. Pistol Grip Pump is a wicked song on that CD :) |
Pistol Grip Pump was the other song off of Renegades that I had heard previous to today. The guy that got me into guitar told me to download that song and learn it, due to it's extreme simplicity. I did not know how simple until I listened to it. 3 effing notes. :p
|
Still a great tune though
|
One of my faves off of Renegades. So far, my favorites are PGP, as previously mentioned, How I Could Just Kill a Man(probably my favorite bassline out of all RATM songs) and Microphone Fiend.
|
MY cd has an error on it. When i put it on my computer is said "How Could I Just Kill a Man".
|
So does mine
|
mine doesn't
|
My favorite tracks from Renegades were their covers of "In My Eyes", "The Ghost of Tom Joad" and "Maggie's Farm". I liked the bassline from "How I Could Just Kill A Man", though. I confess I haven't seen the DVD "Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium" yet...but I've heard the C.D.(and the bonus tracks at the end of Renegades) and I like how Cypress Hill helps out.
I couldn't stand their cover of "Street Fighting Man" though. |
.(and the bonus tracks at the end of Renegades)
what bonus tracks? |
the aussie version of Renegades contains 3? extra tracks from the live at the grand olympid audiotorium DVD, only converted into music instead of video
|
Oh, news to me. are they hidden tracks?
|
no, theyre tracks 13,14, and 15
|
Isn't the cover of the aussie one green and red instead of blue and red???
|
Um, on my version, it's red and green, but it says it's from Japan.
And it does have Kick out the Jams/How I Could Just Kill a Man live. |
^Yes.
|
Self Titled

What are you talking 'bout? |
On the American version of Renegades, the live versions of "How I Could Just Kill a Man" and "Kick Out The Jams" are hidden tracks. The Australian version has them listed.
There's another version of Live & Rare where they have "The Ghost of Tom Joad" as a bonus track, I believe.
the aussie version of Renegades contains 3? extra tracks from the live at the grand olympid audiotorium DVD, only converted into music instead of video
What other song is there? |
No shelter I think...
|
Which is Fuck the Police on?
