London, England - Hammersmith Apollo, on the last weekend of the Unholy Alliance tour.

Oh well I'll be back tomorrow.
You're a bad bad man...... :p
Same here. King is really fast and better than many guitar players, but I like Jeff a lot more.
Hey have you noticed that in every slayer solo you'll see this exact run
or a variation of it?:

I've noticed riffs similar to that in many Slayer songs aswell.
I like the songs Jeff has written better, but as far as solos go, they aren't really all that different.
I think that Jeff has more solos that are have "emotion/feeling". Such as the second solo to The Anti-Christ.

Nostalgia 09-14-2005 10:38 PM

And I heard Jeff's a pretty nice guy, but god slayer is getting old and still an amazing band. Any word on their new album I heard its supposed to arrive like...um I beleive it was like oct 13,15,16, haha, one of those.

nontie69 09-15-2005 11:23 AM

yeah man i heard so many different stories about when there next album is comming out. but i hope its sometime in oct last i heard its ganna be in january.

http://rock1053.com/cc-common/CCOMRholder.html?pour=/cc_photopop.html?eventname=pierce

Here we go. This is what might be the new album cover will look like. It's in slides though, so you might just want to skip to the end, it's a guy getting piercings saying SLAYER on his back.

lightningmetal666 09-16-2005 12:58 PM

I can't see the pic. Maybe I need to update flash or something.

Bazarov 09-16-2005 03:31 PM

Hmm. It isn't working for me either. Well imagine a guy whos back is filled with piearcings to form the word "SLAYER".

lightningmetal666 09-17-2005 11:36 AM

Yeah that pretty sick. I like the CD art for Divine Intervention. I actually did that to my wrists once just because I was bored. I didn't go that deep though.

That's to extreme for me, deep or not deep. I guess I'm not as crazy as most Slayer fans.

Why would you want to cut yourself?

lightningmetal666 09-17-2005 03:42 PM

I'm not really crazy but i just wanted to see what it felt like. It was barely superficial anyways, like when you get scratched by a cat. That was about as deep as I got.
I'll tell you one thing though, when I showed up for work later that day I got more than a few stares.

Ozzfestgod666 09-21-2005 08:05 PM

i agree that jeffs song have been really good but his solos alot of the time are repetitive while king changes it up now and then

in the song '"God send Death" king's solos with the wah aren't very tricky but they add flavor to jeffs non stop same run speed

Hmmmm. I actually find Jeff's solos more appealing than King's.

Incase if anyone wants it Slayersaves.com has posted an entire concert from Slayer.
Here's the link to check the thing out.

Bazarov 09-22-2005 09:32 PM

Hmmm, I was thinking maybe to spice things up for a while in this thread is maybe, we could each record ourselves playing Slayer songs or something? Or if you don't know a full song just play some fav. riffs.. or something I don't know.

Nostalgia 09-22-2005 10:13 PM

Yea we need to do something, I want this thread to 1000 posts. Hmm let me think

MRDuCran 09-22-2005 10:48 PM

I've recorded Angel of Death and Stain of Mind before, I forgot the 2nd section to AoD though and didn't bother with the solos.

I tell you honestly if it was possible for me to record I would've already posted it here in a hot minute. I've been working on Dead Skin Mask for school so I've been getting pretty good at it.

Same here, as of right now, I cannot get Audacity to convert anything to MP3 format, and I've downloaded numerous of MP3 convert programs.. each one says they can't work with Audacity.

Bazarov 09-25-2005 04:43 PM

BUMP

Haha, I got my audacity to work. I might just have post me attempting Read Between the Lies.

Yes, I found the slayer forum! Slayer are the best band in the world! I saw them last year on October 8th in Cardiff, Wales and they were awsome! I love 'hardening of the arteries' from Hell awaits and Payback.

Well guys feel free to rip out my entrials and sacrifice me to the Gods. That's me attempting as much of the rythm of Die By The Sword that I know. My timing is off on some places and I did some riffs to many times, and a few times I hit the wrong notes but oh well... I just started learning this song yesterday.

That wasn't bad! I've gotten into makin' up my own riffs more now but it still feel's great to rip out a few classics n' slayer have the best riffs to jam on your own to. I love playin' 'dittohead'. I'm gonna compile a list of the greatest slayer songs.

lightningmetal666 09-26-2005 11:51 AM

Well I can't post as I don't have a computer at home. I can't download anything at school so I'm @$$ out. This really sucks!!! Well I'll just have to listen to your guys' stuff later on. Peace.....

Nostalgia 09-26-2005 12:15 PM

Hmm... I'v never done it so I don't know but how do you transfer stuff to YSI or smoething like that what do you use? I know how to make the link but how do you play it on YSI.

What I did is I used audacity to record.. blah blah.. then converted what I recorded from .au format to mp3. with LAME then just went to YSI, browsed found the file and that was it. Hopefully that helps somehow?

Apocalyptic Raids 09-26-2005 07:24 PM

My favourite off Hell Awaits would be Necrophiliac.

Nostalgia 09-26-2005 07:33 PM

The intro to necrophiliac is awesome the whole song is gret, the only problem I think is the recording production.

I like that song a lot but I love it even more when tom introduces it on the STTA boxset dvd. He's all talking bout eatin' a dead chick out and shit. It was so wrong yet so right.

I used to be a big Slayer fan until I kinda of overdosed on them. I listen to Slayer once in a while. Thr riffs in Dead Skin Mask were my favorite.

Does anyone have the album Divine Intervention? I was wondering it was good or not because it's one of the of the Slayer CDs I don't have.

It's more melodic than their other stuff (IE from track 5 on), but they certainly do have some great thrash songs in that album. It was the first slayer CD that I got it I really dug it. I'd tell you to buy it and check out the first 5 tracks (Killing Fields, Sex.Murder.Art., Fictional Reality, Dittohead, Divine Intervention)

My faves were Killing Fields (Love to play it on guitar while screaming the lyrics), Sex.Murder.Art (the intro is kinda hard to play on guitar), and Dittohead. (I've never heard anyone sing as fast as tom in that song.)

Yeah I really like that CD. It took a while to grow on me though. But there are some slower paced songs, but then thrashy fast ones like Dittohead. I give it 3.5/5
