It'll be interesting to see how Priest handle a concept album.

Shattered_Future 04-22-2006 07:21 PM

That would be quite interesting...

I'm personally hoping that the Painkiller, Sinner, Exciter, The Ripper and Starbreaker team up to fight the Metal Gods.

That's the best case scenerio of course.

that would be pretty kickass.

Don't forget the Turbo Lover.

>_>

<_<

Deth 04-22-2006 08:53 PM

He can get killed off in the first song.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-22-2006 09:04 PM

Damn right.

It should just be about a motorcycle or something. That would be \m/

:-D

Deth 04-22-2006 09:08 PM

A Priest album without a motorcycle nowadays is laughable. What would be the point?

My gym teacher looks exactly the same as rob halford, its quite scary...

hahaha. That's cool.

Riva 04-22-2006 10:37 PM

Hehe. Imagine Nostradamus on a motorbike.

I'm a prophet, bitch!

where the fuck are the Sentinel and the Leather Rebel?

Brew 04-24-2006 02:04 PM

Was anyone else amused/unimpressed with Robs vocals on the Rising in the East DVD?

He always seemed to look like he was in pain and he just sounded off for most of the show.

Deth 04-24-2006 07:02 PM

I found it all understandable, given he's about 500 years old. Painkiller was the only song that really disappointed me, but it still slayed.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-24-2006 08:30 PM

I thought he sounded great, considering his age. The only song he didn't sound good on at all is Painkiller, which is understandable.

Riva 04-25-2006 12:20 AM

He has trouble with his vocals a lot of the time these days. I think I read he's got an almost continual sore throat because of his falsetto back in the day.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-25-2006 03:08 AM

That might be why they don't do more tracks from Painkiller live.

Riva 04-25-2006 03:13 AM

Which is a real shame.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-25-2006 03:15 AM

Indeed it is :(

Battle Hymn leading straight into One Shot At Glory live would be awesome. Hell, that's almost as good an opening combo as The Hellion/Electric Eye. Almost.

Riva 04-25-2006 03:26 AM

Hmmm... It'd be tough to beat, The Hellion/Electric Eye.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-25-2006 03:33 AM

Yeah, The Hellion/Electric Eye can't be beaten.

Slayer's Hell Awaits and Exodus' Bonded By Blood come close though.

NP: Nokturnal Mortum - The Funeral Winds Born In Oriana. Ever since Vortigern mentioned tavern wenches in the same post as Nokturnal Mortum, I can't help but laugh when the folk part comes into this song. :(

Riva 04-25-2006 03:36 AM

Hehe.

I'm thinking that Hard As Iron could be as good as The Hellion/Electric Eye.

HazMan 04-25-2006 03:39 AM

listening to revolution

Apocalyptic Raids 04-25-2006 03:41 AM

Ah, I still need to get Ram It Down. I'm waiting until I can find it cheapish.

LONG LIVE JUDAS PRIEST!!!!:chug: :smoke:

It would be better, unless Priest actually played The Hellion instead of using a recording.

Deth 04-25-2006 06:52 PM

One Shot at Glory should be the first encore.

Riva 04-25-2006 08:14 PM

I got it for 10 buck.
listening to revolution
Good song, but it drags on a bit.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-27-2006 02:28 AM

I think The Ripper is my new favourite Priest song!

Shady Ultima 04-27-2006 03:08 AM

How is the new cd? Or did it ever come out? I never heard any word of it. I'm glad Halford is back though. He's just friggin great.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-27-2006 03:38 AM

The new album is alright, although it's kinda inconsistent.

What rock have you been living under? :p

Shady Ultima 04-27-2006 03:44 AM

Ah... the college rock. No money, no music channels on TV, no good radio stations... ya... that rock

ThrashMaster27 04-27-2006 06:18 AM
I think The Ripper is my new favourite Priest song!
I think Victim of Changes is mine.

Nice to see the Priest thread up and rolling still. So I've been listening to 70's Priest a lot recently. 3:15 on Stained Class....

*Headbangs* :smoke:

Apocalyptic Raids 04-27-2006 06:38 AM

Forbidden's live cover of that song is cool. Russ Anderson sounds exactly like Halford.

It doesn't touch the original of course :-D

Deth 04-27-2006 08:09 PM

I still can't decide whether Stained Class or Painkiller is my favorite.

Argue for your album of choice.

Riva 04-27-2006 08:25 PM

Hmmm... it is tough, I admit.

Exciter, Better By You Better Than Me and Stained Class are all iconic JP songs.

However, as an album, Stained Class simply can't rival the non-stop awesomeness of Painkiller.

And besides, my favourite "classic" Priest album is still Sad Wings Of Destiny. ;)

Apocalyptic Raids 04-27-2006 08:42 PM

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was going to say.

Unleashed In The East would be my 2nd fav if you want to include live albums.

666Ozzfan 04-27-2006 08:48 PM

I only have Killing Machine. I'm quite enjoying it. Still finishing my Black Sabbath album collection, then I might move to buy more Priest or Deep Purple. Not really sure.

For how long was Halford away from Judas? And any solo albums that might be worth having a listen to? I think he's got alot of talent, and is generally underrated. Well, here in NZ he is anyway.

I also like Les Binks' drumming. He's got a certain quality that no-one can really match.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-27-2006 08:52 PM

He was out of the band for 11 years, I think his solo project is supposed to be quite good.
