my favorite jethro tull song is def "thick as a brick." quite a unique song, very creative. and it changes completely too many times to count.
yeah, thus the reason i dont listen to that album much lol. i have to be in the mood to sit through it. i prefer their "folky" era (songs from the wood, a minstrel in the gallery, heavy horses) above anything else...right now my favourite song by them is probley off "stand up" titled "a reason for waiting".

B0nz0 05-10-2004 04:17 PM

i really do like aqualung as well.

B0nz0 05-10-2004 04:17 PM

Has anyone here heard of that Australian Pink Floyd cover band. I can't remember their name, but do you think they're any good?

RockAndRoll 05-10-2004 08:13 PM
i never heard of him before. but what are ur opinions on steve miller. i love that song "the joker" it's been stuck in my head for a week.
abrakadabra annoys me, but go on take the money and run is awesome, as is jungle love. fly like an eagle and swingtown are also personal favorites. opinions?
Steve miller's good, not one of my favourites but still good, i like the songs you mentioned.

What about marley, not exactly classic rock but he fits.

rocknotroll, where do you live?

Favourite tull song? hmmm, my god and hymn 43 come to mind, listenend to one after the other ofcourse.

Badmoon 05-10-2004 08:20 PM

^ Marley's fabulous. So emotional, which makes up for for skill, because he's not the great of a musician.

cameroncrowder 05-11-2004 06:51 AM

Classic rock is awesome I am only 15 and i used to be a big punk fan and now i have found myself listening to Zepplin and Pink Floyd all the time

The Esoteric 05-11-2004 05:56 PM

As was said before a lot, classic rock is awesome. I started out with the Floyd then expanded to The Doors, Zeppelin, BOC, Beatles etc.

jimmydean 05-11-2004 06:32 PM

Jackyl is a great classic rock band

Badmoon 05-11-2004 06:33 PM
Another one converted! :D
No they're still at the Classic Rock Seminar, when they start liking more unknown C.R. bands then they're converted.

I'm crying, I didn't not hear a mention of CREAM, b'itches! I know you're all up on zep(I love their music too) but I am the classic rock maestro, bieng that it's all I live in(peace, it can still happen)

But, everyone forgot other people back in the day(ahem, chuck berry) I don't know if we can go as back as the fifties, but maybe beetoven had something in mind with the 5th...

Well, we don't have to really mention Cream, it's infered that we all love them.
but I am the classic rock maestro
I'd just liked to point out you have Kurt Cobain in your avatar.

StreetlightRock 05-12-2004 06:09 AM

Cream are awsome, but i prefer their 'rocckier' songs than there softer ones.

DVG.

slash_and_perry 05-14-2004 04:42 PM

My favorites are Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, The Who, and The Scorpions.
I don't think that Aerrosmith gets a lot of recognition, I think that most people kind of take them for granted, but they freaking rock......even today!

LedZeppelin629 05-14-2004 04:48 PM

I'm going to see Rush in August and Deep Purple in June

Cream, Bread, Hendrix, Marley, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Zeppelin... all get regular time in my playlist.

Badmoon 05-14-2004 09:11 PM

^ Welcome

Today I finally bought Hot Rats.

I like it, it's got Beefheart, which is always good, nobody can sing like he can (With the exception of Howlin' Wolf). Some great guitar playing, and a great production. Which is sometimes good, sometimes bad. Now, the one thing I don't like about it is that it's Zappa'a first album without The Mothers of Invention. With The Mothers, Frank was a lot more humorous, and the music was so much more creative, though he's still very creative without them.

I give it a 9.9/10

Give your ratings.

I just went to a Kiss a concert ( a week ago) ****! so good! They had Allegiance, MGF and Grinspoon playing with them. Alliegence sound like Metallica, pretty awesome. MGF are just such great performers. Grinspoon have always been a pretty cool band, and didn't dissapoint. Then Kiss came on. So **** awesome! They made a few mistakes granted, but they are getting old. Go see them! On a different note im waiting for another cool band to come to perth :(

FrailandBedazzled1979 05-15-2004 12:59 AM
