I just had some fries for lunch, do it.

Deathcrush 08-13-2007 03:53 PM
You mean chips, right?
There are Americans about, I didn't want to confuse anyone. :p

Yep, some seasoned fries and a 2 cheese toastie would be nice right now.

Now drinking: crappy cider

Tyler 08-13-2007 03:54 PM

What kind of Cider?

I was drinking Growers the other week. I'm not sure if I like it or not. It's made from BC Granny Smiths.
What kind of Cider?
Strongbow. A mass-produced, popular cider I only really ever buy because I can get 4 litres of it for £5.50; not exactly an exquisite beverage.

Decent deal for when you feel like getting quite drunk for cheap (and at least this crap is a step up from the even cheaper varieties of horrible cider).

pulseczar 08-13-2007 04:03 PM

i'm eating microwave lasagna right now mmmmm

Eww :(

I really like Strongbow actually, but it's expensive as **** here. $2.70 for a tallcan.

The type of Strongbow we get in Australia is somewhat more expensive and tastes nicer than the one you're describing.

James Boag cider is the nicest I have tasted so far, but then again I'm not a big cider fan.

There are 3 kinds of Strongbow apparently but only one is available here. We have lots of solid Canadian ones though because of all the orchards in BC.

I drink strongbow regularly it's cheap and nice. But for a nice quality cider you can't beat Magners, Bulmers or Gaymers tho'.

Either am I, so I haven't really experimented with decent brands of cider; cider to me usually means "2-litre bottles for extremely cheap prices".

However, Kopparburg Pear Cider is absolutely lovely.
Magner
I hate Magners. Such a horrible drink.

for sure. its not that we cant afford it, got the thing for less than half anyways, but the fact of the matter is we dont need it. I said what I needed to say and it doesnt help that I say "no", but then they ask him...he shrugs his shoulders and keeps goin with it, they're going to stop listening to me and talk to him. My roomate is the one who's makin the payments for it so I guess I dont know why Im bitching.

Why drink cider when Blue Moon is so readily available? Mmmmm, I love Canada because of that drink.

I honestly have never seen that anywhere. It's US/Canadian, too, since Coors and Molson are now the same company.

Oddly enough, Coors and Molson but suck.

I agree, they're both shitty, but holy hell, Blue Moon is a delicious beer. And I'm pretty sure it's a Canadian-made Belgian-style ale, so I don't know why you haven't seen it.

I dont know but honestly, I seriously haven't seen it. Maybe a few places have it on tap and I've missed it but it's definitely not prominent at all.

If I see it somewhere I'll try it out

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

http://www.bov.ch/labels/Scotland/sco-arran-blond.jpg

Absolutely exquisite ale, from the Isle of Arran; with its venemous-adder-infested mountain named Goat Fell.

And yes, I did find that information out after deciding I really liked the beer.

Kage 08-13-2007 04:30 PM

That looks like a classy brew, alright.

Deathcrush 08-13-2007 04:34 PM

Wychwood Brewery is extremely over-rated, and is only so popular because it usually has extremely cool imagery on the labels, but 'Hobgoblin' is great even for the advertisement alone.

If you get it on tap, make sure they give you an orange slice to put in it.

Riva 08-13-2007 04:43 PM

I try to avoid drinking beers with citrus slices or the word "Blonde" in the name.
