Just stopping by to jump on the bandwagon and say melodeath sucks.

As i've said many times. Arghoslent + Autumn Leaves = Only melodeath you need.

Just got in from the Summer Slaughter Tour. Didnt stick around long though.

T'was pretty good from what I did see, though. Primarily only went for Cephalic Carnage, so when they finished, I bounced. Their set was pretty good, always tight live but I wish they had played some more of their old stuff.

Saw Cattle Decapitation as well, which were pretty decent. Except, the dude forgot what city he was in and yelled out Montreal...Lemme tell yah, he ducked outta the way from those spit bullets coming at him left, right and centre. Mind you, he spits on himself so much already that I guess he really wouldnt care much.

So, all in all it was pretty decent. Wasnt there the whole time, but I enjoyed the 2 sets I saw. I had a fun night besides just the show, but those were the highlights.

I also heard a rumor that the dude from Necrophagist went to CC and told them they were not allowed to play certain songs, if they were over technical, so that they would not seem better than them on tour. Im not sure how true this is...but I just thought it was an interesting tidbit of information.

CC more technical than Necrophagist? I don't think so.

Anyway, I'm stoked to see SS on Friday.

Probably a rumor started by CC fanboys to make CC seem better. Necrophagist is miles ahead technically, even if I think both bands are rather boring. Listen to Foul Body Autopsy and tell me those sweeps aren't insane.

i understand that WOC is their best work, but why so much hate for decapitated?

Im not just referring to CC, it could have been all the bands on the tour for all I know. I just thought it was a somewhat entertaining piece of information.


I dont think just because a band is ahead technically, that they are necessarily better all around. But thats besides the point. You definetly could be right though.

Because their other albums arent as good and their new vocalist is teeeeeerrible.

so that means that all of their other albums suck then?

and the new vocalist kind of grows on you and he is somehow better live.

I don't think I have listened to any thing melodeath related besides Intestine Baalism in over 6 months.

Intestine Baalism is probably one of the better melodeath bands. I may have over-played them so now I'm kinda tired of them.

I'm sort of ashamed to listen to as much Melodeath as I do... eh, whatever.

Autumn Leaves, Intestine Baalism...All good melo-death bands. Most other things I have heard have being "eh"
SotS does have a few good songs and AtGs first album is very good.

Some melodic death is good. Eucharist, Arghoslent, Amon Amarth...etc.

Eucharist is fairly gay. Amon Amarth is preschool metal, there are some other good melodic-ish death metal bands but Arghoslent is the only one you said.

Amon Amarth is fairly good, boring after a while. [I]Versus the World[/I] and [I]With[/I] [I]Oden on Our Side[/I] are good albums. [I]Fate of Norns[/I] is kinda boring.

Vehemence is (was) a very good, original, interesting band, [I]God Was Created[/I] has a great atmosphere (as do most good concept albums), but [I]Helping the[/I] [I]World to See[/I] is a heavier, more rythm-driven album, and is a little more technically interesting.


I personally like At the Gates, although they aren't exactly groundbreaking. Good music to throw in once in a while. [I]Slaughter of the Soul[/I] has a few decent tracks.

Mid-age Kataklysm is very good, [I]Epic: Poetry of War[/I] is an outstanding album. The newer stuff is alright, but the newest, [I]In the Arms of Devastation" [/I]is excellent. "The Road to Devastation" is ****ing great.

I personally like Vital Remains, though the newer stuff is rather long and thus feels repetitive and boring after a while. The older stuff isn't that way though, and is even better. [I]Into Cold Darkness[/I] is ace.


And Dark Tranquility is the only band that can seem to make so many consistantly good albums without stumbling......
