Eh, no matter how hard I tried to get into them, I just couldnt, but the band really is'nt bad, I just dont enjoy them. Decent music compaired to what other modern music there is.

1. A year and a half ago Davey got vocal nodes and had to stop singing and get surgery with the possible loss of his voice. They cancelled 10 shows, first time they'd ever fully cancelled instead of postponing
2. Davey's doing vocal tracking right now

It's pretty much the same. If anything, he's more dynamic in his range (like he can go a bit lower and a bit higher) because I have the mp3 of AFI performing the Cure's Just Like Heaven, and it's awesome.
