I found this interesting.
This incarnation of Gimp, is mainly for the sake being put in roles different than you are normaly put into. So, until we go record, you can hear the real gimp, then expect the new gimp to have a show in the near future, this is a one shot deal.
I guess some people in texas started a Gimp cover band?

edit: also, who did the original version of "One Tin Soldier"? I can't quite remember, and it's been bugging me.

albert_bass 07-15-2005 02:03 PM

Original Castle?

alegolasg 07-19-2005 10:00 PM

argh

alright this distrubes me and i hope someone here can prove them wrong but i was looking on wikipedia at the stuff about botar and at the very bottom it said

"Their next CD, "99 Songs of the Revolution," will never be released. Ever."

please tell me that they have been missinformed

RetiredAt21 07-20-2005 12:41 AM

Interesting...

I think its originally by Coven. Me First do a great cover of it. I learned it a long time ago in Church camp.

Gimps cover of it sucks though.

KingOfSka 07-24-2005 04:44 PM

Does anybody have the full Catch 22 - Dinosaur Sounds album they could upload on Yousendit? I already tried the YSI thread, but the only guy that has it has uploaded it twice, and it won't work on my computer. Thanks :D

Shtein 07-24-2005 04:50 PM

I'd rather just mail you the cd for you to keep. It is terrible. That is if you like the way Catch was around Keasby Nights.

J_McMeaty 07-24-2005 09:50 PM

I saw Catch 22 yesterday, and I give them credit. Theyre starting to get alot better. Half their set was newer stuff and the other half was Keasbey Nights stuff. I could have gotten a massive erection when they ended with Keasbey Nights had I not been crush the whole time.

AIRIC 07-24-2005 09:53 PM

I thought they were terrible live.

J_McMeaty 07-24-2005 09:55 PM

Theyre not bad. They have quite alot of energy, except the trombone player.

AIRIC 07-24-2005 10:00 PM

I think it's odd how the sax player does vocals.

Thats how they've been doing it for years now. Only before it was half Alone in a Crowd half KN.

So... you know, none of the songs were terrible.

3qtzDrunk 07-25-2005 04:53 AM

Ive seen them like 7 or 8 times, I think theyre great live, but they seem to play the same list of songs everytime, just in a different order, I would like to see them play somthing different once in a while.

haha same here. I have a burned one. Yuck. I just bought Keasby Nights last week though. Soooo much better.

Capdown does that

Silvermedalmafia 07-25-2005 10:50 PM
Capdown does that
True, but they do it well.

Silvermedalmafia 07-25-2005 10:51 PM

I think the New Catch 22 is terrible live. I downloaded a few videos and they are brutal.

the old catch 22 was so0o0o0o much better live, there was a lot more energy with tomas. im not as much into the 3rd wave im more into two tone, but botar has to be my fav 3rd wave band. there a group of some of the most talented musicians ive herd.

SnazzJazz 07-26-2005 03:30 AM

I looovee The old Catch 22. I'm absolutely infatuated with Streetlight Manifesto. And of course there's no denying the amazing talent behind BOTAR. I never heard of this Gimp thing until just now. Me likey that one too. I heard that Tomas Kalnoky wrote all the music for Here's To Life (The Botar version at least). True? Are there more songs he's single handedly written? I never get to see bands play live (besides local rock bands). I hate Hawaii with a passion.

Thomas writes everything, from the lyrics down to the drums and horn section parts. I guess that everyone gives input, and things are changed here and there, but he has the final say about everything.

*Tomas...no "h"

Forest_Fire 07-26-2005 10:50 AM

On windows media player, it lists Thomas Kalnoky as the composer for Keasbey Nights, but Tomas Kalnoky as the composer for Everything Goes Numb.
