yup, that chick is annoying

especially during the most intense song on the entire show 'weakness'
she starts to scream

/wants to kill her
:amaze:
They should of ran off the stage and choked her in front of everyone or tied a tourniquet around her big mouth. :amaze:

Cardboard Headgear 11-06-2004 12:34 PM

It's actually a guy screaming.

Kaden 11-06-2004 08:46 PM

so now that Flynn's back...can I get that controversial picture? I saw everyone discussing it and I'm really curious what it is.

Phil Anselmo 11-07-2004 04:56 PM

Robert Flynn? The lead singer of Machine Head?

bucket 11-07-2004 05:13 PM

Flynn is a lady...

Phil Anselmo 11-07-2004 05:15 PM

Oh, okay.

Opeth is the greatest band ever.

Embodied in faint vapour. Wandering through Aprilīs fire.
Compelled to grasp and to hold the one that was you.
I will endure, hide away.
I would outrun the scythe, glaring with failure.
It is a mere destiny I thought, a threshold I had crossed before.
The rain was waving goodbye, and when the night came the forest folded its branches around me.
Something passed by, and I went into a dream.
She laughing and weeping at once: "take me away".
I don't know how or why, Iīll never know When.

You guys know the end of "By the Pain I See in Others", after the actual song is finished there is silence for a bit then there's that weird singing?

Perhaps you'll get something if you play it backwards? Anyone wanna try because I dunno how to do it.

If he's actaully singing something and I can't understand it....well, it will be kind of awkward then, won't it.

LordDargon 11-08-2004 07:13 AM
You are the type to be nice to everyone till you get power then you transform into a pr1ck. So do me a favor and please don't reply to me anymore.
I don't have any "power" (I'm not a mod or anything), and you seem to think I'm being a prick. So that pretty much nullifies that point.

I think someone mentioned that it's a part from Master's Apprentices played backwards, not 100% sure though.

Distorted Vision 11-08-2004 10:47 AM

Wow this thread's still going eh? I stopped posting when I thought it had died.

Hail!

bucket 11-08-2004 09:38 PM

I'm sure most of us in here won't let it die even if we run out of topics.

And about that BTPISIO question:

"Htaed otni yaw eht dael

Yawa gnidaf

^^^ I played it backwards with windows sound record, and its a indeed a part from Master's Apprentice, like someone said before, its the part wehere he sings

soothing trance
colours fade
and disappear
ethereal light
showing me what i can do without

And also what album is pattern's in the ivy 2 on? I have Blackwater park, Deliverance and ****ation, but i only ahve the first one? Unless they put it on a previous CD, but I cant find it on the track listing for any others. Was it on a special edition CD or something, or a single?

Supreven 11-08-2004 11:21 PM

As I type this I'm listening to Opeth for the first time (Blackwater Park), I'm new the genre, I guess Dream Theater led me to try out Opeth.... But ****, its great stuff, I'm really surprised, the deathmetal style roar is usually not my thing, but the mixing of hard and soft vocals along with acoustic instrumental sections creates a certain beauty to the still very aggressive style, and it really works well, I love it!!

Patterns in the Ivy II, along with Still Day Beneath the Sun, were both on the special edition of Blackwater Park.

You remind me of myself when I got into to Opeth, same exact song too... I didn't think they growls would appeal to me but they quickly grew on me after a few listens.

same here, I hated death growls, and still do not really enjoy them other than a select few bands such as Opeth. Opeth is just beautiful music.

Supreven 11-09-2004 12:10 AM

Ya for sure, I can't see myself getting hardcore into deathmetal, I've heard other stuff and its just not my thing, but these guys just sound so **** refreshing, they seem to combine a lot of the elements I enjoy in music...

Hevy Tred 11-09-2004 11:41 AM

wow gg

i really love bleak, those lyrics are insane, also i think everyone should listen to face of melinda, that is such a great song

bucket 11-09-2004 05:09 PM

The thing that really got me to buy a CD was the song Blackwater Park. Dang! That first riff should get just about anyone hooked.

SonorKen 11-09-2004 11:18 PM

Ok guys, made this official. Make sure when you see someone post up Opeth questions you direct them here.

they aren't really like COB, they have more longer and slower songs, and they use death metal and clean vocal styles. Their music is hard to describe and label, but IMO it's beautiful and perfect.

Get blackwater park for a starting album or still life.

Arucard 11-10-2004 10:24 AM

thanks mate i shall ! sounds good i get sick of COBs vocals occasionally i would like some clen lol

LordDargon 11-10-2004 10:34 AM

Why not go back to the Death heads thread were your subtle jackassery towards bands you don't like will go over better, hmm?

jamesclelland 11-11-2004 11:37 AM

i'm sure i'm the millionth person to ask this, but whats a good album to buy first. i've heard songs on that launch cast through yahoo and i dig opeth. just curious which album might be the best to pick up first.

LeperAffinity 11-11-2004 11:48 AM
