If we are talking Classic Rock as in "Rock that is still as popular now as it was when it first came out", then QUEEN are the obvious choice for me.

DEEP PURPLE - they are comming to Manchester in November!! And im there! Still touring, still great!

NEIL YOUNG - Awesome. Saw him in sheffield and he was awesome, ive got most of his stuff on LP, hehehe how "retro" of me.

AtramentumZE 04-16-2004 11:23 AM

Jimi Hendrix ia god to me.
:O there's a clapton concert in toronto (i live 2 hours away)
but it's 115$ for decent seats:(.
I'm going! i got tickets, today, his one canadian date, and although i'm not on the floor i've got front section seats. That's right i've got front row seats to see eric clapton, you may start your envying now. I'm so psyched to go.

BludgeonySteve 04-16-2004 09:16 PM

Maybe if I had the money I would pay that much for Clapton tickets. It's not like I have much to buy anyway.

gregulus 04-16-2004 10:24 PM

these teenagers like the hit singles(i.e. stairway, purple haze(wasnt a hit single but is the only hendrix song people who claim to like hendrix know), and break on through) they are real fans. if you play one of the amazing songs for them they will respond with an "..ehh"

Yea, During the summer, i'm going to help take apart a friends fence enclosing his pool, which is paying for this concert and a bit more. I figure this is about a once in a life time chance for a guy like me, so it's worth the money.

Most every guitar player listens to classic rock at my school, but I love Pink Floyd, I hope it comes back

:(

iownu2711 04-17-2004 04:09 PM

Yeah. Classic rock owns especially Zeppelin.

RockAndRoll 04-17-2004 05:08 PM

Ok, this thread needs a revival, if you could see any classic rock band in concert at their peek who would it be? I'd probably have to go for the who.

Indeed, The Who.

RockAndRoll 04-18-2004 09:30 AM

I think supertramp concerts would have been great too, I was told they had the light shows and everything going before that kind of thing became big. But the who had some wild concerts, so I still think they're at the top of my list.

StreetlightRock 04-18-2004 09:34 AM

Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin, simply because I COULD.

DVG.

roughyed 04-18-2004 11:18 AM

Def Leppard
Queen
Deep Purple (You can scratch that off in November woo!)

Badmoon 04-18-2004 11:21 AM

^ I wouldn't exactly call Def Leppard Classic rock.

roughyed 04-18-2004 11:23 AM

I wouldnt either. BUT they are rock and i would kill to go and see them now.

rockinbass17 04-18-2004 12:32 PM

classic rock is becoming popular in my school. zeppelin, van halen, the who, grateful dead, ac/dc, and hendrix are the most popular, but there are other good ones.

FrailandBedazzled1979 04-18-2004 01:35 PM
^ I wouldn't exactly call Def Leppard Classic rock.
Now that we are well into the new millenium alot of rock bands from the 80's are considered classics, and Def Leppard although having a differnet sound that lets say Queen, they to me are a rock band who are considered a classic, just a different kind of classic rock. in sure 15 years from now, people will consider Soundgarden classic rock, it will just keep expanding.

craig 04-18-2004 02:10 PM

There are lots of good british bands but not all the best ones are british (isn't ac/dc australian?). The doors, Hendrix experience, Rush, BTO, The Guess Who, CSNY, Band of Gypsys, etc etc.
