i played one that was fretless and it played great but had 0 tone options it had 1 sound to it

My question wasn't about the tone. It was about the tension of the B, which is my main concern. Personally, I find the pre to be fantastically versatile, and if I didn't, I could just buy a U-retro or something. For now, I'm focusing on playability.
