Science of Sleep looked a little full of itself to me, at least from the commercials.
Although I did want to see him play the drums ^^ |
I still think Michel Gondrys best work overall is Eternal Sunshine On the Spotless Mind...michel gondry needs to get better with his stories though, he kinda lacks in that department.
No I wouldn't...
Haha yes you would. The only way you can make 100% profit, is if the items you sell are free. ...highly doubtful you will be coming up with 1,000's in free stuff to sell every month. The only other way is to buy the things, then sell them. In wich case (maybe you should go to school, this is really easy stuff), the amount left after you subtract your cost from the selling price is your profit, wich is a % of the sale. If you made a 20% profit margin, you'd have to sell $25,000 in stuff. If you made a 50% profit margin, you'd have to sell $10,000 in stuff. etc VERY simple math here. And if you are talking about buying and selling wholesale, that means you also need a business license. It also means you will be taxed. Not sure what income tax is in England, or the taxes on business. I'm sure you get taxed long before you hit the 36k/year mark. Everyone pays tax, just a matter of how much. Either way it means you've added a whole set of expenses wich can be further deducted from profits. You aren't selling privately if you have a business license, you need a business license to buy wholesale. If you have a business liscense, you are a business, and therefore running a business out of your home. You can make more money easier with a normal job, and you can save all the time wasted playing drums. Besides kids should be doing kid things when they are kids. |
I started a mutual fund about 1 1/2 years ago but my mom wont let me take any out, she says it's for college. I wanted to start a retirement fund but I didn't have a steady income.
|
THAT'S THE MOVIE.
I want to see that so bad, but I couldn't remember the title, all I know is it's by the same guy(s) who did Little Miss Sunshine, which I havn't seen either...I was going to rent them but it's kind of hard when you can't remember... THE SCIENCE OF SLEEP!
Uhm. No. Not the Little Miss Sunshine guy. Science of Sleep is by the guy who did Eternal Sunshine. |
Haha that's good of your mom!
Mutual Funds are fantastic for longer term investments, however they work that way by leaving them alone. Also depending on the kind, you may have to pay a penilty or withdraw a particular amount to avoid that. There is often still a payment/transaction fee to withdraw. You can use the rule of 72 to see how fast your money grows. Take whatever amount you initially deposit. Divide 72 by the interest rate, so if mutual funds average 12.3% a year. We'll use that, 12 into 72, is 6. At 12% interest, it would take you 6 years to double your money. That is of course, if you just take alump sum and leave it there. Now if you add to it monthly, you REALLY start making money. You are taking advantage of dollar cost averaging by consitently adding money to the account. In this way, if you started putting $150/month into IRA/MutalFunds, etc even at a safe 10%/year you'd be a multi-millionare before you were 40, financially indepent before. One reason it is therefore true, that there is little reason for anyone to not be able to retire before 50, to a very comfortable lifestyle if they spend 30+ years working. Simply a matter of planning a head, and makign some smarter long term investment moves. |
I was going to give it away to a friend or someone at my work. Probably one of the kids at my work. I know there's 2 brothers that come in and play the drums there alot, they play them the most that I've seen, but their parents have got a tight budget and wouldn't be able to afford buying them a drumset.
Edit: It's a CB 5 piece with 18" Sabian AAX + 17" AA-Metal X crashes, Zildjian A Medium Ride, B8 Hats (still haven't replaced those  ) If I sold it all I might get a couple hundred bucks, but I'd rather see someone who really wants to play drums to have them, instead of who can afford drums. I don't need the money.
Fair enough. |
Haha if it takes someone more then 20 seconds to read 2.5 paragraphs - They are either retarded or stupid.
The post quoted above me here, is only about 2 lines longer then mine. |
Im just lazy :D

And I have no beer hookups today, they all still have to work [the schedual of an electrician is insanely screwed up]. Drums, however, shall come quite soon indeed ^-^ And the recon. of some clothing. And an art project. And an essay for college. And a hair appointment... Damnit, no rest and relaxation for me >< |

I know some of Alan Dawsons students who said it took them 10 years! just to get the single excercises up to 160.
edit: You benefit from Stick Control more if you go very slow and be insanely picky about precision, stickheight, dynamic, control etc. Kids these days just want to get "it" over with and learn zelch from it, just to say they did it... |
Just getting to the end of page one will take a year+.
Depends on what you mean by "get to" |
Well i want to go through each exercise 40 times at 60bpm until i get to page 10 before next month!
Well i want to go through each exercise 40 times at 60bpm until i get to page 10 before next month!
Simple.....ive jus got to work hard!
What page are you on now? Shouldn't be that hard if you're only going through it at 60bpm.
You benefit from Stick Control more if you go very slow and be insanely picky about precision, stickheight, dynamic, control etc.
Haha, I actually got to page 17 (2nd page of flams) in like 4-5 months and wondered why I didn't feel like I was improving then realised I'd been rushing through it without paying any attention to what I was actually doing...... .....so I started it again from scratch being a lot more picky about my playing. It now takes me 2 hours to get through one exercise. I've been on page 5 ever since I re-started like 5 months ago :smoke: |
Im starting the book again.
