Ah, good job on High Anxiety, munky !

Shred Danson 05-31-2005 09:06 AM

Blessed be those who browse this thread!

Good morning, you sons/daughters of bitches. I'm back from the weekend, recovering from wounds recieved whilst playing the great game of moshketball on friday. I also have a sore back from packing all my crap up. Moving out rules. Memorial day was a somber one, as I took the day to remember those fallen soldiers who fought for my freedom...I also had a beer or two with my dad, yeehaw.

NP: Bon Jovi- Wanted Dead or Alive

(C'mon, you know you like this song)

Cain 05-31-2005 09:14 AM

I can stand 'em. It's all in good fun, the music they make. It makes me laugh. :)

Shred Danson 05-31-2005 09:17 AM

That's the only song by them that I actually care for. I love playing it at school, especially in front of the ladies  .
That's the only song by them that I actually care for. I love playing it at school, especially in front of the ladies  .
You know that girls still think that Bon Jovi's hot. You just know it. Those hair metal guys' sexual attractiveness will never die. I mean come on, they dressed up like girls but were somehow still men. No wonder they got so much *****.

Well, except Mick Mars, but he never counted anyway.

Shred Danson 05-31-2005 09:25 AM

Ewwww Jon Bon Jovi's getting the purty eye from 13-year-old girls. That guy's like, 50.

Mick Mars isn't even human.

I have a bit of nostalgia for bands like the Crue, Van Halen, and Skid Row. The rest of those glam/hair metal bands deserved to die. But there's been less sex and booze at shows since the eighties, man. I think my band will bring back the backstage sex and booze

Jom 05-31-2005 09:28 AM
Enjoy. I expect a full report on what you purchase.
Alright.

Porcupine Tree- "In Absentia"
Arsis- "Celebration of Guilt"
Shadows Fall- "The War Within"
Gorillaz- s/t
R.E.M.- "In Time... Best of 1988-2003"
Aww, come on, that's not an answer and did you see my audioscrobbler week chart? Hardly any metal there.

Did you rate it? <-<
It wouldn't matter, because you would still snicker and laugh at the band's un-tr00ness. And yes, I saw your Audioscrobbler, and yes, I rated your review.

Heh, I think you're directly speaking to me, but I'm not sure. Sorry, but I only have five strings on my guitar at the moment... I have 11's that I have yet to put on, but there's no way in hell I want to throw those on and try standard tuning with them, sorry :-\

Oh, and did I mention that I blow at guitar?
I've been trying to figure out the name of that extremely popular club/techno/trance song that gets played at clubs and sporting events all the time. I know the beat and how the song goes, but I dont know the name.
It's definitely "Who Let the Dogs Out?" by Baha Men.

Just kidding, that's not it. And that was wayyyyyyyyy too vague, you're right.
EDIT: Jom's post disappeared?
I killed it because I forgot that I needed to go back six pages or so to catch up with the thread, not unlike what I'm doing now.
I approve of munky's obtaining of High Anxiety !
My local CD store doesn't have any European rock and metal artists, it seems. I looked for Therapy? and Dog Eat Dog, and they were nowhere to be found.

Shred Danson 05-31-2005 09:32 AM

That was the most hardcore reply post so far today.

Congratulations, Jom. You are hardcore.

Jom: if you rated it, then munky lied to me. Unless you rated it not helpful. And I'm sorry to hear you can't find any Therapy?. You must feel sad. :(

Also: Gorillaz' self titled is good, except for a few songs that are bad. Enough songs on it to enjoy though.

What? I made it go from 3 of 5 to 4 of 6.

Oh yee of lil' faith.

I've listened to part of the s/t, and it's okay so far. It's a bit too trippy in a couple spots, but it was for six bucks, so I thought it would have been alright.

And that sucks you have such a bad connection.
I'm trying to figure out how to either a) make the downloads go faster or b) know how to resume a download after it craps out.

I'm on a 112kbps DSL, but it's more like 11.2kbps dial-up. It's just a glorified phone line... but like I say, this connection is better than no connection, really.

Anyways, so I go to YSI to download the .zip file.

I always choose "Save to Disk" or whatever and let it download to the desktop. After awhile, it just craps out.

So then I tried "Open With... WinRAR" and it still craps out.

The tricky thing here is that sometimes, when I go back to the YSI link, it will resume the download every so often. It's really weird.

Advice/suggestions/links would be appreciated :(
That really sucks. Every once in a while my DSL connection dose that but it hasen't in a long time. Actually I don't think it hasen't happened since I got my new modem. Maybe thats the problem. But I don't know

Wintermute (and maybe others, I don't know) encountered a glitch of some kind a week or so ago which replaced the  smiley with CJS's Bruce Willis gimmick's avatar. Those are the screenshots he used to try and prove it to the rest of us (and the last one is indeed a post in the mod forum, so enjoy).

SUCCESS!!!!!!!

I am now courting two job offers: A babysitting gig for two boys 10-15 hours a week at 10 dollars/hour (including extra compensation for gas--how awesome is that?) and and morning breakfast server gig at a local hotel/inn, 7 bucks an hour plus tips from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., five days a week. I must say, getting your job over with that early in the day is pretty sweet. :D I have interviews today and tomorrow...let's hope they go well. :-/

Also, I unfortunately was required to lie by omission in order to secure the interview for the inn. They asked if I was looking for a job on a more permanent basis, or just temporary. Given my total lack of luck when I was honest and informed potential employers that I would be returning to school, I did something my dad suggested: inform them that I was not planning on returning to school if I did not have enough money. Half-truth. I have every intention of returning to school, but I do really need money to do so. I kind of felt bad. I suppose we'll wait until I get the job to cross that bridge.

Cain 05-31-2005 12:20 PM
Ah. I'm starting to look for a job in the fall. Right now I babysit for my friend's 2 little siblings. Babysitting pays real well, just because parents are trusting you so much, and when you become their regular babysitter, they trust you more and will give you more $$$.

As for my fall job (maybe) I could get a job like as a desk clerk at my mom's hospital. Other than that, I'm applying to Starbucks or a CD store, bieeeeetches.
Starbucks is a corporate beast. Don't give your time and effort to them. Give it to the CD store. :)

I'm looking for a job this summer. I think i'm going to see if I can work at a music store called Specs. Or a reptile store near my house
