GY!BE again. I'm listening to Lift Your Skinny Fists... again, and it still astounds me with its genius. Well, I only secured a copy a couple of days ago, but still, this is only the second time I've listened to it. Amazing.

Iai 11-16-2005 02:07 PM

The new Depeche Mode album is their best ever, for my money.

I haven't listened to much music the last few days. Been too busy reading on the way to work instead.

Midtown - Forget What You Know
The Dismemberment Plan - Emergency And I

IntenselyGorgeous 11-16-2005 04:47 PM

I am listening to a canadian band

The Organ are great. from Vancouver

lead singer girl dated guy in Destroyer. The Organ have elements in their music that sound like Destroyer. Guy in Destroyer is also in AWESOME band Radio Berlin (on Action Driver).

Check out all three bands!

Electrocution 11-16-2005 05:30 PM

I just bought How Strange, Innocence, so hopefully I'll be diggin that.
I just bought How Strange, Innocence, so hopefully I'll be diggin that.
/envious

I gotta pick that up soon.

Jeez, I feel like such a non-fanboy

Electrocution 11-16-2005 06:20 PM

It's ok, I'm counting on christmas to get the other two. I'll probably go for the vinyl cause I'm cool.

Wanker 11-16-2005 06:33 PM
I'll probably go for the vinyl cause I'm cool.
Oh man. If you get those two albums on vinyl, you'll get 100 scene points as opposed to the 25 I got for owning the CDs.

Little Man being Erased 11-16-2005 06:55 PM

Did they re-release How Strange, Innocence or something?

Wanker 11-16-2005 06:57 PM
Did they re-release How Strange, Innocence or something?
Yeah, a little while ago.

These MP3s just aren't cutting it anymore.

Luxor 11-16-2005 07:03 PM

It's pretty pricey, though. Which is unfortunate, yet expected.

Little Man being Erased 11-16-2005 07:04 PM

Cool. (not about the priceyness)

And yeah, I know what you mean.

I still need to get Those Who Tell the Truth... blah blah blah

Luxor 11-16-2005 07:05 PM

I don't own any Explosions albums. I can't afford $27 for one CD.

Dog 11-16-2005 07:11 PM

Yusef Lateef - Live At Pep's, Vol. 2

What a great album.

Wanker 11-16-2005 07:11 PM
I still need to get Those Who Tell the Truth... blah blah blah
That really made me laugh. It's probably one of the longest names to an album next to A Silver Mt. Zion's He Has Left Us Alone But Shafts Of Light Sometimes Grace The Corners Of Our Rooms.
I don't own any Explosions albums. I can't afford $27 for one CD.
:-\ Shipping rates on Amazon are only $2 for a cd, and How Strange, Innocence is only $10.99 new. It's actually the cheapest one out of the three LPs.

Luxor 11-16-2005 07:14 PM

So that's what, about $20 Canadian? I don't know the actual price of How Strange in the stores, but a friend told me it was expensive.

I know that the rest of their albums are atleast $24CDN each.

Little Man being Erased 11-16-2005 07:17 PM

How about, Right Now You're In The Best of Hands. And If Something Isn't Quite Right, Your Doctor Will Know In A Hurry by Bear vs. Shark.

Dog 11-16-2005 07:19 PM

I believe Fiona Apple holds the record for longest album name. I remember seeing it a long time ago in a Guinness Book Of World Records.

Edit: Yeah, it's really long:
When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King/What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight/And He'll Win the Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters the Ring/There's No Body To Batter When Your Mind is Your Might/So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand/And Remember That Depth is the Greatest of Heights/And If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land/And If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right

JonM 11-16-2005 07:21 PM

It's such a good record.

Little Man being Erased 11-16-2005 07:23 PM

Wanker 11-16-2005 07:27 PM

^^I'm pretty sure you had me beat.

I'm sorry man, I didn't know it was that expensive in Canada.

Youth Are Getting Restless is awesome, it was actually my first Bad Brains cd. The bass really stands out, and instead of a guitar solo in a few places, there are bass solos, Big Takeover being the best. And their reggae cover of a Beatles song.
