July 3- Sinix @ Baltimore, MD
WTF is Sinix? I've been going to shows in Baltimore for God knows how long and have never heard of this.
Deathcore is already limping along barely alive, I don't think we're ever gonna see a deathcore album that's incredible or whatever.
Animosity have come close with all fo their albums tbh.

Dimmu Burger 06-09-2010 03:55 PM

I think the idea of "core" being in the genre makes people automatically not have any respect or give any credibility to the music. It's like saying there will be no incredible crabcore bands.

2muchket! 06-09-2010 03:59 PM

Those people are ****ing retards though dan we know this dude, like most people who hate on metalcore don't have a clue about hardcore, and the bands that they've heard and are basing their opinions on are god awful.

Funny thing being though that 95-99% of 'deathcore' has no hardcore in it all. It's just awful death metal to good to great death metal, with some either excellent or hilariously bad breakdowns.

Dimmu Burger 06-09-2010 04:00 PM

Yeah I think the definitions have changed quite a bit. I don't like to use those like when I'm describing my (almost) band's music. Techy/Noisy Contemporary Extreme Metal with Breakdowns.

witchxrapist 06-09-2010 04:10 PM

Incredible deathcore = Animosity, Whisteria Cottage, Rifles At Recess, All Shall Perish (The Price Of Existence), old Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Graves Of Valor, and Dead Man In Reno.

Other bands are enjoyable, but the musicianship and songwriting ability of these bands sets them apart from the rest.

bloozclooz 06-09-2010 07:35 PM

that breakdown in Bridles Of Inciatus, oooooohhhhh. i'm a sucker for breakdowns when they actually do something new with them

edit: just noticed that you have just been erased by austrian death machine...

has a breakdown. UNCH

well the problem with crabcore is hardly just the -core suffix

Really? Incredible?

2muchket! 06-10-2010 09:22 AM

Minus DMIR yeah it is

Xplisit 06-10-2010 09:43 AM

whisteria isnt incredible. theyre enjoyable and the vocalist is good but lets be honest. at least 3 of their songs (and they dont even have many songs) contain riffs that mirror eachother.

Pete 06-10-2010 09:51 AM

Camilla fcking Rhodes.

The lack of respect for tight musicianship on this forum is so annoying.

It has to be polyrhythms or ya kids don't recognize it, blegh.
Minus DMIR yeah it is
What's wrong with DMIR? They have some of the most interesting guitar parts in this entire genre.

2muchket! 06-10-2010 04:45 PM

I can't agree with it because I haven't really listened to them.

Not because I dislike em just haven't formed an opinion on them.

witchxrapist 06-10-2010 04:51 PM

These are their two best songs imo:

The one breakdown-ish bit that just keeps progressing in the middle of She's Tugging On My Heartstrings is epic.

2muchket! 06-10-2010 04:59 PM

i like the melo deathy leads they are pretty sweet

Pete 06-10-2010 05:00 PM

Conducting From the Grave and Within the Ruins are good for that as well

2muchket! 06-10-2010 05:02 PM

Yeah I really like CFTG's leads. They're quite upbeat and just all round p sweet.

I like how much is ****ing going on in that middle 'breakdown' section of the song, and that's what's so good about Whisteria Cottage too... the thought that goes into the songwriting, even breakdown parts. It's not just jun jun jun jun jun jun, it's like jun duh duh jun jun jun jun tweedly doop deedle deet.

I like intricacy and layerz.

And I'll agree with Pete, Within The Ruins has great leads, so does that August Burns Red band they try to be like...

you're a douche :/

witchxrapist 06-10-2010 10:26 PM

regardless my point was that you specifically seem to ignore elements of songs when you analyze them and tend to talk about the most forefront segment.

Xplisit 06-11-2010 10:53 AM

yes, by saying that a band isnt incredible, im ignoring elements of songs.

figured it had to be brought back
