i told it in the style of a biblical parable or family friendly sitcom

i wanted to make the characters kind of flat in an archetypal way to make it clear they were all just obvious expressions of a moral message and not a deep character study

most of the stuff i write is like totally centered around complex and self contradicting characters but ends up having no closure or moral so i wanted to do the deliberate opposite

I feel like Western religion takes the purity of Eastern religion and makes it simpler to understand the concepts by breaking up all existence as one lifeform into a two-dimensional god and a two-dimensional devil

The psychotic element in this story is broken in half as the pink-haired girl representing the mystical and spiritually cleansing side of shizophrenic and bi-polar traits , and the cannibal killer representing the psychopathic and harmful traits of insanity

The neurotic level is broken into the opposite characters of Jeremiah and Alex. Alex is a realistic and honest representation of the way I act, whereas Jeremiah is a two-dimensional representation of all my selfish temptations (suicidal thoughts, stealing, etcetera.)

by having these characters all come to a cheesy compromise at the end and no one taking selfish control of their doppelganger , i was trying to say that there needs to be compromise between contrasting energies and not co-dependency and unhealthy interactions that become a parasitic enabler and addict relationship

they can only all survive is they balance each other out as 2 forces and not 4, one representing psychosis and the other the less extreme symptoms of neurosis


they all find their lucky day when the serial killer stops being involved with them, Alex saves Jeremiah, and then it ends with the possibility that maybe when Pink finds a cure for her demons she can become one with Alex/Jeremiah through a balanced and non-parasitic relationship

by dumbing it down to a cheesy made for TV movie aesthetic, i was attempting to satirize the way breaking things down into simpler forms robs them of some of their purity

which ties in how this story was inspired by my move away from western religion and into more occult concepts
