Whenever I hear the words "Metallica" and "cover" together I run. Far, far away.
What about Garage, Inc.?

Burdcheese 12-30-2004 04:43 AM

Well I enjoyed the MTV thing...
even though none of the people on it were as good as the real thing.

But there you go.

Not directly Metallica related, but its been mentioned above; what was the thing between Mustaine and Slayer about?

JACKROXYOU 12-30-2004 11:17 AM

after dimebag died, mustaine took it apon himself to repent and he said sorry to slayer and metallica for the bitter rivalry.

in my opinion the band fued may stop but the fan fued will never end

Mister_Che 12-30-2004 11:19 AM
in my opinion the band fued may stop but the fan fued will never end
Indeed. In fact, I'm sure people are calling Mustaine a ***** since his apology.

JACKROXYOU 12-30-2004 11:20 AM

yea but what are you gonna do

life=guitar and gettin laid 12-30-2004 11:21 AM

Metallica

Metallica are one of the best bands of our time
thats a fact
they have all the makings of an amizing band
and thats what they are!!!
Can u say that u don't like turning up ur amp gettin out ur flange n playin enter sand man cause i can't

JACKROXYOU 12-30-2004 11:23 AM

JACKROXYOU 12-30-2004 03:36 PM

so any one else want to talk about mustaine while we're here (no flamin)

Mister_Che 12-30-2004 03:49 PM

He received credit for Call of Ktulu right?

JACKROXYOU 12-30-2004 03:49 PM

not from me

Mister_Che 12-30-2004 03:52 PM

I mean he wrote Ktulu with James didn't he?

munky_magik 12-30-2004 03:54 PM

He wrote the intro chord sequence, which is why it is the same progression used in Hangar 18

JACKROXYOU 12-30-2004 03:56 PM

in the booklet they say they all did it

mustaine is only mentioned twice

Mister_Che 12-30-2004 04:01 PM

OK, there's my Mustaine input then.

I'm not quite sure but it was between Dave and Kerry, not whole Slayer. I think it all began after Dave's interview about early days of Megadeth (Kerry played a few gigs with them when they had no second lead guitar). And I think Dave said that Kerry was a big poseur on stage and he couldn't even play guitar. All he did was to mess with his whammy. Dave also said he taught Kerry lots of things on guitar.

So after that Kerry didn't know how b*tch about Dave (he's a good guitar player indeed), so in his interviews he started to talk that Dave's the most horrible vocalist in Heavy Metal. And he said: "Whoever told that guy that he can sing must be shot"

btoto 12-30-2004 04:50 PM

BTW, yesterday I learned whole Unforgiven I. Actually I hate that song, I love UNforgiven II more but the guys in my band decided to play that so I had learn the song including the solo. It took me an hour and half to learn it. Very easy actually.

:p
What about Garage, Inc.?
I guess I phrased that wrong. Covers of Metallica songs make me run, not songs that Metallica covers.
so any one else want to talk about mustaine while we're here (no flamin)
I think Mustaine is great. Some of Metallica's best songs wouldn't be as good without him. Personally I like him much better than Kirk, but not for Metallica. He just didn't fit right.

Same :)
I often woner, what would Metallica be like with Dave.. But I kinda figured, it just wouldn't be the same without Kirk.

we wouldnt have megadeth

Chu 12-30-2004 09:06 PM

Yeah, I know...

Well, it would be kinda cool if they toured together and Dave played Lead for all of the Metallica songs he wrote, or added to...

Fernandes Power 12-30-2004 09:26 PM

What about Lloyd Grant playing Hit the Lights too? :thumb:

Freezing Moon 12-30-2004 10:18 PM
we wouldnt have megadeth
...and that would be horrible.

PepsiMetal 12-31-2004 12:38 AM

I think mustaine is an donkey's arse, and kirk owns him anyday, but then again my only anger to him is towards him being a totally idiot towards metallica. Good thing he left cause kirk wouldn't be in metallica, and maybe many of those good songs wouldn't be there.

Chu 12-31-2004 12:56 AM

Those good songs? Like Enter Sandman?

Freezing Moon 12-31-2004 01:02 AM

I think you are "an donkey's arse"

Kirk didn't wirte the truly great Metallica songs.
Those good songs? Like Enter Sandman?
Exactly.

Dave wrote nearly every Megadeth song. Kirk does not own Mustaine any day.

You'd be a "total idiot" towards Metallica if you were in his position too. I'm quick to admit that he stayed angry way too long though.

Josh 12-31-2004 03:58 AM

i'm not a regular in this thread, but i heard somewhere a couple of weeks ago (i think it was at school) that jason newsteds sang creeping death on one of the tours? i may be wrong but i'd like info on this please.

Yes, lets please stop arguing about Dave and Kirk. It seems that everyone (including myself)has their own opinion and isn't going change it because some people in an internet thread like the other guitarist better.

btoto 12-31-2004 11:53 AM

^^hey thanks man. cool ! I just registered as "MeChaniX"

let this be a lesson, the mods won't tolerate rule breaking. I don't think that it particularly matters though as he probably just joined up to advertise and never to post

JACKROXYOU 12-31-2004 03:13 PM

Yeah, I reported him.
now everyone list their favorite songs from kill em all
Four Horsemen, Hit The Lights, Metal Militia. I used to really like Seek and Destroy but I listened to it way too much and got burnt out on it.
