The Conjuring, Holy Wars, Looking Down the Cross, Set the World Afire, Take no Prisoners. You know, songs that sound metal. |
I rate the Scorpion and Back in the day higher than all those songs except Holy wars.

We must have different musical tastes. Or there is something terrible wrong with your mind. It's one or the other, but I'm leaning towards the latter. |
Heheh, seriously though. You like the NWOBHM?
What's your favourite band from that period? Other than Maiden and Def Leppard, who are the best band of all time and vomit inducing, respectively. |
There's too much good stuff, but a few are bands like Venom, Maiden, Priest, Angel Witch, Diamond Head, Blitzkrieg, Motorhead, I don't really know if Mercyful Fate counts in here, but they're kick *** anyways, Saxon, Girl School, and Tygers of Pan Tang. It's freakin hard to find some of those groups damn records, but it's worth it.
|
Angel Witch are the kings of NWOBHM. Raven kicks *** too.

Well, Priest and Venom aren't really part of the NWOBHM, nor Motorhead, because they were around before in Priest and Motorhead's case and a little after in Venom's. Angel Witch and Tygers are pretty good, as Are Diamond head, I saw them supporting 'deth last year. They were excellent. You might want to try Samson, who had Bruce "God" Dickinson singing for them before he joined Maiden, and maybe Toad the wet Sprocket, Wytchfynder, Preying Mantis, heh, Maybe even Ethel The Frog |
Why all the terrible names?
|
Because it was the 80's?
|
Of course.
|
Ollie wins this thread.
|
I win every thread.
|
So true.
NP: Eidolon The Drovers are awesome. |
I'd say Back in the Day is some *** kicking metal.
I really like Blackmail the Universe too :p |
Aussie Ticket Details/Prices
http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/eventprofiles/profiles.asp?profileid=2977 $86 \m/ |
Expensive, but probably worth it.
|
I don't really think it's that expensive for what you're getting.
|
I guess. The Who concert I'm going to was 130 dollars..
|
I dunno, in my opinion I'd only be paying to see Megadeth, and as they have another CD coming out, maybe they'll do a tour which will be cheaper and have a longer set time.
|
Thats pretty much the same deal with me but since they are touring now they probably won't come back for another year so I'll probably go.

Is it bad I find myself enjoying Risk? :p
|
Yes.
...only kidding. I enjoy Crush 'Em from time to time. |
I've only heard Insomnia from that album.
I don't really intend to hear anymore, either. |
Thats probably a good idea, never really liked anything off that CD
|
I think the only thing I can stand is Crush 'Em.
|
Not even Prince of Darkness? I love that song!
|
Risk was the first megadeth album i bought lol.
|

Risk is a good album. |
I think the only thing I can stand is Crush 'Em.
I like Prince of Darkness and Crush 'Em. |
Not even Prince of Darkness? I love that song!
I forgot that was on there :p |
I just started listening to some Megadeth yesterday, I forgot how kickass Holy Wars is. Not to mention Return to Hangar 18 and Rust in Peace.. Polaris
|
Rust in Peace.. Polaris is just ace
|
Yeah, I think they should play that one much more live.
|
By the way, who did the solo in "rust in peace polaris demo" ? (in the remastered CD). Was it marty? This solo sounds strangely for a fredmanian solo .
|
According to the booklet, it was Chris Poland.
|
Wasn't chris fired in 1986?
So rust in peace polaris was recorded before 1986? |
I'm not sure. Either there's something wrong with the book, or Mustaine got Poland back for the demo.
Or it could be that old. Doesn't sound that old in the demo though. |
Risk is teh ghey, really.
It's like Cryptic Writings and TWNAH without the good tracks that are on those two. Like Trust, Use the man, Return to Hangar, etc. |
