FUCKING GREATEST SHIT EVER

Some dudes opened up a venue 6 miles from my house. I can drive there in like 10 minutes and all the shows are $5/$6. The first show is Sinking Ships with More to Pride and a bunch of sweet local hardcore bands. My life is changed :')
Ahhhh Sinking Ships is soooo good. NYC has pretty awful local bands... we only have the tough guy/mosh bands.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 12:29 PM

I prefer the bands from DC than most of those from NYC.

RetiredAt21 03-23-2005 12:41 PM

I like both.
I prefer the bands from DC than most of those from NYC.
I prefer the bands from the North West, Canada, and MA over NYC bands... and I'm from NYC.

RetiredAt21 03-23-2005 12:45 PM

Canada? Pfft...

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 12:55 PM

Some of the music those Cannucks make must be good.....

Nope, can't think of a single decent band.

omgomg! simple plan!

young, loud and andrew 03-23-2005 01:04 PM

Comeback Kid, Blue Monday, Go It Alone, Alexisonfire, Boys Night Out, etc.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 01:05 PM

Psh. Simple hXc Plan > everything

RetiredAt21 03-23-2005 01:25 PM

Boys Night Out and Comeback Kid. The best things out of Canada since...uh...Propaghandi.

RetiredAt21 03-23-2005 01:25 PM

Oh yeah, and Cryptopsy.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 02:26 PM

Britain and the East Coast of the USA have better bands.
Britain and the East Coast of the USA have better bands.
What good bands do Britain have...

cbmartinez 03-23-2005 02:47 PM

The Beatles.

RouteOne 03-23-2005 02:47 PM
What good bands do Britain have...
There is this metalcore band called ISOR that is pretty good.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 02:48 PM

The Beatles? The Clash?

Nah, they suck sorry.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 03-23-2005 02:49 PM
What songs did you get? Because you need

"Windowpane"
"Harvest" for the softer stuff and
"The Funeral Portrait"
"White Cluster" for the heavier stuff.

I also just realized they have an album called Still Life and an album called Orchid. Coincidence? I THINK NOT
Hahaha I noticed that when I was looking for songs, I was gonna say something.

The only song I heard was 'Karma'

A-Life-Less-Plagued 03-23-2005 02:49 PM
The Beatles.
Well bands that are still around...

cbmartinez 03-23-2005 02:49 PM
There is this metalcore band called ISOR that is pretty good.
What's that stand for?

The Clash do not suck.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 02:52 PM
What's that stand for?

I was being sarcastic to prove a point-I like the Clash and the Beatles.

I listened to 'Perfecting the Vegan Death Grip'. Awesome!

Thanks a lot.

cbmartinez 03-23-2005 02:59 PM

I remember my friend sending me a myspace link to some tech metal/metalcore/grindcore band from England but the name escapes me.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 03:06 PM

Could be Isor.

I know, I love them. They are actually a big inspiration to my band I sing for. :thumb:

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 03:09 PM

Seems like a new favourite band in the making.... :thumb:

How is the scene over there in London?

I'm 13, for Christ's sake. Dillinger played recently, though. And Blood Brothers are playing tonight I think.

Thats cool. What does you're age have to do with anything?

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 03:30 PM
Thats cool. What does you're age have to do with anything?
I can't exactly be 'part of the scene' and stuff like that. I can't go up into London to go to shows unless it's with an adult, as all the shows have age restrictions. (16 mostly)

Wow, there isn't really any age restriction here unless there is a bar inside.

ION DISSONANCE SIGNED TO ABACUS RECORDINGS. :thumb:

http://www.abacusrecordings.com/

Abacus is getting to be a very good label.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 03:36 PM

Yeah. Caliban are one of the best European bands at the moment.

RouteOne 03-23-2005 03:44 PM

Don't really care for Caliban. I think All Else Failed, bleeding Kansas, Haste, Turmoil & Maroon are their best bands.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 03:46 PM

Rammstein are Caliban for teh kids.

RouteOne 03-23-2005 03:48 PM
Rammstein are Caliban for teh kids.
haha, have you ever seen a live Rammstein show? It's pretty much a live gay porno.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 03:49 PM

I can only imagine.......

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 04:16 PM

Going back to the Isor thing, I just asked an 18 year old friend of if they knew them and he said that they had played a gig with them in Kentish Town; amazing!

Apparently they slayed and the guitarist had a cordless guitar so he went out on to the street, stopping cars and playing whilst everyone could hear him inside.

cbmartinez 03-23-2005 04:24 PM

Ion Dissonance owns.

Hahahaha. Wow, I want them to come to America.

I think they have a very good sound for only 2 people.

SpecialBoy 03-23-2005 04:38 PM

Are they big enough to start touring America on a large scale? I'm not so sure, unless their new album is a hit.
