Thanks! Im listening to it now :thumb:

Nice bassline!... *waits for lyrics to kick in* if there is any..

aha!

meh, it wasnt much of a song. It was pretty weak repetitive (was it an album song?!)

The lyrics were wrong(ish) and sucky at times though. It fits in with the Maiden persona though :thumb:

(Lord of the Flies is another name for Beelzibub (aka the devil) )

Gackt 05-19-2005 10:17 AM

Nepharite 05-19-2005 10:33 AM

I used to write here A LOT a long time ago, around 2-3 years ago. Some oldies might remember me by the nick LarsOnTheBass. I actually wrote a Featured Bassplayer: John Myung which I don't know if you still have. It might be saved somewhere...

Anyways, I came back just some weeks ago 'cuz I feel my motivation is bassplaying is fading and need to find some way to get it back, hence I'm back. I don't really know what took me away from here, but I know what took me so long to go back: My nick was gone, I wanted something better, I registered this, I regret the nick I have, and couldn't change it in any way (I couldn't even delete the account!). So, I have to live with this. Yeah yeah...

EDIT: I now say that you call it Featured Artist. Yeah I did one... on the bassmaster of them all... John Myung :)

haha! Yeah, people think that alot! You're lucky you missed my crazy time of epileptic fit causing avatars! Then my harddrive failed and I lose all my avatar files.. This is the only one I could find

Nepharite 05-19-2005 10:51 AM
what kind of thing cant you play nowadays?
It's not really like that, it's more of what I want to play. Previously I played a lot of Dream Theater songs (well, still do) but I don't seem to advance in my playing that much. And it bugs me. I've been searching for bands to play with but can't really find any good ones. Seems like I need some teacher to give me some lessons...

well if youre say 18 you could go to music college instead of lessons
and depending on where you live depends on what teachers you can get or what colleges you can go to

I'm 20 so that is really no option. I don't want to go to a big music college since I want to keep music a hobby and don't want to work with it. And I live in Sweden. :)

well get into a serious band or two, and see what happens
the best way to stay interested in bass is to write stuff
and to neal; just ordered tickets www.graspop.be omg im so happy

neal_672 05-19-2005 11:14 AM

Graspop? Some kind of European festival, at a guess that is?

well whats your theory like?
and whats your gear?

neal_672 05-19-2005 11:25 AM

Out of that lineup i would go see: Maiden (seeing them at Leeds anyway), SOAD and 80's Matchbox. I pretty much hate all modern metal...

neal_672 05-19-2005 11:25 AM

Oh and Dream Theater, i'd go see them over all of the others :thumb:

jaco jr 05-19-2005 11:28 AM
Oh and Dream Theater, i'd go see them over all of the others :thumb:
Theory? Pretty much none, since I'm self-taught.
I play on a TRB6II and a wortless 30W amp which doesn't deserve to be mentioned.

neal_672 05-19-2005 11:33 AM

But have fun anyway dude :thumb:

Got any good source for learning music theory? (preferably from a bass perspective)
Read my thread about choosing an amp :)
