^Netherlands! :p
Yes, indeed Sir!

bassi3 05-19-2005 06:59 AM

Yo Jamie, you seriously don't know the story behind Stairway??

Jamie 05-19-2005 06:59 AM
Yeah, train was fun... was crowded, but i managed to get a seat... :)
School was/is OK, we did a lesson on composing, and one on metaphores (sp?)...

Non, je n'habite pas en France, j'habite aux Pays Bays. C'etait le meme zone du temps.
I took 3 years of French.. and I cant even write "My name is Jamie" ( i can say it though!)

Pays Bays? No idea where that is.

I hate crowded trains! They get so... stuffy!

And metaphor isnt the right word you're looking for, unless you were doing English! A metaphor is a describing type word. Like, "That tree looks like a mean old man!"

Unless im missing something, and there is metaphors in music?

Jamie 05-19-2005 07:00 AM
Yo Jamie, you seriously don't know the story behind Stairway??
Im afraid not.. Ive only really recently got into Led Zeppelin, in an insider way (as in, ive downloaded songs and I have one of their dvds)

bassi3 05-19-2005 07:00 AM

No, but there are metaphores in the lyrics... and we also have a class on lyrics...

And i said: No, I don' t live in france, I live in the Netherlands. But it is in the same time-zone...

Radiobass81 05-19-2005 07:01 AM

Hey.

Jamie 05-19-2005 07:02 AM

Oh! hehe. the netherlands are cool, ive been once

What music course are you doing?

Jamie 05-19-2005 07:02 AM

Afternoon Jorge, hows things?

bassi3 05-19-2005 07:04 AM
Im afraid not.. Ive only really recently got into Led Zeppelin, in an insider way (as in, ive downloaded songs and I have one of their dvds)
Well, LZ didn't write Stairway... They covered it from a folk-band. And when they made it a hit, they got sued, and never made a penny from it...
But it wasn't just with stairway... I heared stories half of their songs are covers...

bassi3 05-19-2005 07:06 AM
Oh! hehe. the netherlands are cool, ive been once

England is cooler than the netherlands... (Just my opinion...)

I'm doing popular music on the conservatory of Amsterdam. Which is basically the studie for all music except for classic and Jazz... (And fusion, that's with jazz)

Radiobass81 05-19-2005 07:10 AM
Afternoon Jorge, hows things?
Good good.

The input jack on my SX is screwed...

Jamie 05-19-2005 07:11 AM

Post 1: :O I never knew that! I bet jimmy was embarrassed when news got out that he hadn't written such a beautiful piece

Post 2: I enjoyed the netherlands, well I was there with Scouts. We went on a day trip to holland one of the days. Its a nice place. Except I got incredibly ill while I was over there and became majorly depressed for the 10 days I was there. Haha! Then I cut my foot open on some glass in the water. That just topped it off!

So you studie music? What kind of degree do you get out of it in the end?

Is it true about Amsterdam? Theres prostetutes eeeeverywhere? (Not that i'd want to go there for a prostetute! They are probably all disease-ridden)

Jamie 05-19-2005 07:12 AM

In the end I will become a Bachelor in Music. And if i'm really lucky i get a chance to go further with my Master...

No, they're not everywhere... they're only in the red light district, or 'Wallen' like we call it...
And i don't think they're all disease-ridden. It's fairly legal in holland... they even pay taxes on the money they earn... :)

Thunder Fingers 05-19-2005 07:21 AM

 Gotta Love Holland...

bassi3 05-19-2005 07:22 AM

Scouts is just the general name in Holland for all the groups... Any age...
When you're over 18 (maybe 21, not sure) you can go to the rovers, wich is pretty much the same... The rover-moot is a yearly event to where most of he rovers go. And you will get green epaulettes when you took your 'exam' to be a rover.

Netto could be finnish, but i aint sure bout that one...

Thunder Fingers 05-19-2005 07:37 AM

I was a Rover.. i turned it when i was 16..(apparently i was a little to violent to the kids i was leading in the group i had..:p) But i think they just where a little telling.. kiddies turns into wimps, what i did to them was nothing against what some of the leaders i had did...

Anyway... i noticed after a while i was not wanted in the scout anymore so i quited and started playing bass, best thing i ever have done..

Thunder Fingers 05-19-2005 07:39 AM
Netto could be finnish, but i aint sure bout that one...
we have something thats called "netto inntekt" but i would call that "Gathered income" in English...
