Its so sunny out, almost 70 degrees, and I've been freezing my *** off for MONTHS now, so I'm definitely going out.
Either I'll go to the zoo and maybe take some pictures, or I'll ride my bike somewhere.
But there's nowhere to ride my bike too.
And the zoo is too far, and St. Louis is too hilly for my very, very out-of-shape self to ride very far away from my university :(

so my friends want to go watch one friend get tattooed today, but i'm like "umm i really doubt they're going to let like 7 of us into the room when he's getting tattooed. i wasn't even allowed to go see a friend get his nose pierced." but they all want to go.

It's 36 out...and there's four feet of snow.


Anyways...there's this retarded guy. He's probably in his late fifties, and all he does is wander up and down the road, going between the diner and Wilson Farms. I go to Wilson Farms a couple times a week, and the other day I accidentally brushed against his jacket while trying to leave, because he was standing in the exit eating a cookie and doing nothing.

Today, he was walking the opposite way down the street, saw me get into the turning lane, and then started to run to run back to Wilson Farms...This negress janitor I used to know was paying for her groceries in change, so I had to wait in line for like five minutes, and the entire time he just stood behind me quietly, with nothing to buy or anything. =/

Almost any jazz musician I have met in real life and on the intertubes is ****ing elitist, which sucks because its a good style of music but its so unapprochable.

I'd classify myself as a jazz musician and I like to think I'm not elitist.

I listen to a variety of different music, and while I don't really like harcore music or whatever it is that berk was playing in that video, I wouldn't say "omg thats not even music omg how horrible" like the guys on that forum were.

But I would agree that a lot of jazz musicians do seem to have that elitist attitude, which is a shame.

Yeah when I played in the college jazz band my first year out of high school, even the teachers displayed hints of elitism. And some of the students were much much worse. There was another rocker guitarist who was my age, and he slowly turned into a jazz loving hate everything else sort of guy.

I mean, obviously this isn't always the case, but I have seen it throughout my jazz playing career.

Every genre has its elitists. I find they occur most in jazz, varying forms of metal (mostly in "metalcore" at the moment) and punk.

It's an irritation we have to live with unfortunately.
