Moaner, could you troubleshoot with me for a few minutes?

Right, so when I turn up the preamp volume the poweramp section (I'm presuming) is distorting my cleans, and because my Gmajor is in series it's clipping and anything with delay/reverb on it (a lot of my stuff) is going nuts because it's clipping the input. But turning the input down leaves me without the volume to get over my drummer. How can I get more volume without clipping everything?
So the poweramp is constantly on full, and is still clipping your delay trails, through a 4*12?

What the fuck kind of volume do you need?

Sounds more likely you're overloading the input of the G major I guess, is there a global volume on the output of that you can turn up?

No, see, because the poweramp is basically the FX return of the JCM the volume of it is dependent on the volume of the preamp, I think. And it's a 2x12 combo, and sometimes I use a 1936 with it.

I_am_the_one 09-26-2010 03:25 AM

Did you try adjusting (lowering) the patch volume level on JMP-1?

jaklyons 09-26-2010 05:03 AM

A Zoom G2.1u will solve all your problems, and at a low low price!

It's on about halfway, except the lead patches are a bit higher. Besides, that would only have the same effect as turning the master preamp volume down.

Bruce E Kinesis 09-26-2010 06:14 AM

Doesn't that amp have a master volume mate?

Sup dogs?

guitarbaz 09-26-2010 10:13 AM

sounds like a rig too complicated for me SBT

me = guitar - amp. although i do use one of them there vocalist live things.

odd one, me Engl (50w screamer) seemed to lose power yesterday afternoon at a gig, assumed it was one of the power amp valves popped, but then seemed ok at the evening gig. fired it up at home today and both power amp valves are glowing but it still seems a little quiet. ordered a new pair of valves but i dunno...ideas??

Kuffuffled 09-26-2010 11:55 AM

Mine shut off while I was playing and won't even turn on

I'm assuming it's now a paperweight

Yeah, and Newcastle just got a good fisting by Stoke. Cracking second half.

*Beer can.

And regarding football, I'm a Blackpool fan; cannot believe Blackburn are still in the premiership, they have no skill/spark whatsoever. But we tried playing them at their own long-ball game, was very disappointing that Holloway would choose those tactics :(

nice one, like the Blackpool fans :chug:

been there for our last couple of matches at SJP. alas we don't seem to be able to turn posession into points atm at home.

i've long been of the opinion that Blackburn are not a PL team, don't want to damn them all but seen the toon there once (that was more than enough) and it was a small town, small club with a mentality to match.

Hey now! We barely used our one trick pony! First half was all yours though, better in every way, but second half was good. Oh, and thank you, Perch

Also: the music video we did for my sideproject is nearly finished YAY!

guitarbaz 09-27-2010 05:22 AM

You'll definitely stay up this year though, you're having a great run at the moment. West Brom are doing surprisingly well, we've got Liverpool, City then Birmingham next :-\ need to get our act together if we want to stay in this league.

I think we can, West Ham, Wigan and maybe Wolves (or Blackburn!) deserve to go down with the terrible football they've been playing recently. But it's still early days

Sad But True 09-27-2010 05:28 AM

Alas, no :(

We had to shoot it through the wee hours of the morning at Bradford uni; I was awake and working for about 33 hours. Went to work the wednesday morning till 12, ran around picking stuff up till half 1, drove the Bradford, set up, recorded through the night, packed up and set off at 5, got back, went back to work, then went to bed.

It was done for free by calling in some favours but it's not bad too be honest.

As soon as you started putting the pressure on us in the 2nd half we pressed self destruct. Perch isnt a PL player, Simpson and S Taylor need to get back to fitness. At least weve got a few more injured first teamers to bring back in come Jan. Need to get some consistency going.
