If you haven't played Median XL then there is no way you're successful.

Mr. Pickle 09-30-2009 03:53 AM

halo 3 kbi

Mr. Pickle 09-30-2009 04:40 AM

So I started the last Harry Potter book today; kinda sad. At least I have two movies to look forward to.

funkyhoney 09-30-2009 06:41 AM

You like Halo AND Harry Potter. What are you, 12?

whitesquares 09-30-2009 07:55 AM

Shut up. Harry Potter is awesome. It's an incredible fantasy series.

It's like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or any other fantasy fiction.

Except not as good.

whitesquares 09-30-2009 08:06 AM

Lies.

Army of Darkness is just as dumb as all of those.

(I love that movie).

funkyhoney 09-30-2009 08:21 AM

Bruce Campbell is the greatest actor of his generation! If you don't like Bruce you can GTFO.

Yeah, I know too many who are heaps into Harry Potter, and even though they're like 20+, you can just tell it's the first book series they've ever read. It's sad really.

The good in it all is that hopefully it gets kids interested in reading for the rest of their lives.

This is true. Reading is a very good thing!

funkyhoney 09-30-2009 08:36 AM

Reading is just so much more wholesome than TV for the most part.

Bruce?

"Hello!"

No, but really, Bruce is pretty awesome. Have you read his book? It's called something like, "Life as a B List Actor" or something. It's pretty funny and interesting. Also, an easy read!

Hey, I'm over 20 years old and I love Harry Potter. Why don't you back off, dawg? :smash:

gaslight 09-30-2009 08:40 AM

Just don't bring it up and we'll be fine.

I've read both his books:

If chins could kill: Confessions of a B movie actor.

And 'Make love! The Bruce Campbell way'.

This.

gaslight 09-30-2009 08:48 AM

Pretty much my approach to everything.

whitesquares 09-30-2009 08:49 AM

So was anyone else shocked when Snape killed Dumbledore?

gaslight 09-30-2009 08:52 AM

I was shocked when Goku caught Snape in the Masterball.

funkyhoney 09-30-2009 08:52 AM

No, WORST PLOT TWIST EVER.

Oh wait, that's not really a twist when everything ever leads up to snape being a wanker. A twist would be him being some kind of secret protector or some ****.

I dunno. The whole series is a giant cliche' and they all live happily ever after.

**** that.

whitesquares 09-30-2009 08:54 AM

Dumbledore is gay.

Remember?

funkyhoney 09-30-2009 08:54 AM

I could write a better series, and I will. When I can be bothered writing that much fiction. I like other things than fiction too much.

BenJammin 09-30-2009 08:54 AM

Rowling tells a decent story, but she's a pretty bad writer. That said, I did enjoy the books because they are children's/young adult escapist literature at its best. But I read a lot of fantasy, and I can think of dozens of better authors than her.

No, I totally agree. Her story is cool but the writing isn't too great. She's no Tolkein, Le Guin, etc.

I totally use it as adult escapist literature. I wish I went to Hogwarts. :(

funkyhoney 09-30-2009 08:58 AM

Like Philip K. Dick, he's more a writer of ideas.

Having said that, the ideas are ****ing sick.

funkyhoney 09-30-2009 09:02 AM

Yeah Homer... you're the real lord of the dance.

gaslight 09-30-2009 09:03 AM

Don't worry folks, he'll get the help he needs.

funkyhoney 09-30-2009 09:03 AM

I need a new book now, I'm about 10 pages from finishing A Scanner Darkly.
