They should make a movie for the book. I'd pay for that.

AndreTheHyena 03-08-2006 11:25 PM

I don't understand Two Gallants. I'm listening to them without any prior knowledge about them, so I didn't know what to think originally, and I can't "figure it out", if that makes any sense. It walks a line dangerously close to Bright Eyes.

Are you listening to The Throes or What The Toll Tells? Because the latter is on Bright Eyes' label, and also not as good as the former.

AndreTheHyena 03-08-2006 11:54 PM

No, I was listening to The Throes. I dunno, it didn't do anything for me. Borrowed a lot from Bob Dylan, Bright Eyes, Against Me!, never really went anywhere with it. I'm shelving it for a later date.

TakeWarning 03-09-2006 03:56 AM

I could never get into Two Gallants, I think I deleted all of their stuff.
Fosters brings back bad memories and Stella gives me the worst hangovers. I can't drink wine either. I drink ale usually or a good cider if they have it. If all else fails I'll fall back on Carlsberg, Carling, Kronenbourg or Strongbow. I had some Kronenbourg Blanc the other day which is nice stuff but bloody expensive. I'll drink spirits but usually only after I've had a few. Eating is really key. About a month ago I had nine pints on an empty stomach and it wasn't nice at all.

Aiming vomit is a key skill. I remember once I went into the toilet to throw up but instead of kneeling in front of the toilet bowl I stood over it, swayed backwards as I threw up, virtually missed the toilet entirely, covered the floor and my shoes and spent ages wiping it up with toilet roll.
I'm pretty good with aiming vomit. Like you said, you just gotta get on your knees, or lean on the sink (or wall if you're outside).

Carlsberg is lovely. Carling's a bit plain, i'll always have something else if there's a good choice. Kronenberg Blanc is way over priced, and to be honest i found it pretty disgusting.

That London Bouncing SOuls date has been officially announced now, JOe.

sketchyjoe 03-09-2006 07:04 AM

I'll see you there.

I'm not sure if I can be bothered to go to I Farm tonight.

Drop The Baby 03-09-2006 07:06 AM

Thge Buzzcocks are playing tonight at Camden Palace, don't think i can be bothered though.

sketchyjoe 03-09-2006 07:08 AM

I always seem knackered lately and I'm going to Gogol Bordello tomorrow anyway so I might give it a miss.

TakeWarning 03-09-2006 07:43 AM

Pete 03-09-2006 02:25 PM

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 03-09-2006 02:29 PM

Yeah I didn't catch the reference either, but I knew the last three or four.

HOLDEN TURNS INTO DARTH VADER AT THE END.

How was Lettermen last night Ethan?

AIRIC 03-09-2006 02:35 PM

Lawrence Arms new album.

DaveToopes 03-09-2006 02:42 PM

It was good. I didn't see Lawrence Arms though, my ride came a bit early, and the show ended around 1:00 I think. Latterman played new stuff, it sounded good.

I was just suspended for forging a signature on this Socials test. The best part of it is the teacher that suspended me is this fat Ukranian bitch who I hate.

She caught me forging it, and she comes up to me and in broken english shes like "What doing are you?"

Did your parents care?
Did your parents care?
They don't know yet. I'm still in school, it's 1:25 here. I'm sitting in the library until the principal is ready to talk to me.

Smooth. Why'd you try to forge it?

Jessizzle 03-09-2006 03:38 PM

Dude, thats not smooth, smooth is how i forge it all the time and dont get caught.

AIRIC 03-09-2006 04:13 PM

Suspended for forging..?

Iron Bug 03-09-2006 04:15 PM

Nice thread name change.

KingOfSka 03-09-2006 04:18 PM
Smooth. Why'd you try to forge it?
I forgot to get it signed the night before, and the teacher told me she'd phone my parents if I didn't get it signed.

Kind of ironic, because now not only am I still getting a phone call home, but I'm suspended.

Brain Toad 03-09-2006 04:26 PM

I used to forge my parent's initals in 5th grade, I eventually got caught.
Suspended for forging..?
Forging someone else's signature is a crime, I think it's close to a felony. At least in the US and Canada has many of the same laws. He could technically go to jail if the school bothered reporting it.
