Best book ever.
had to tell someone

jus saw a global threat, strike anywhere, and some band called with honor
with honor kinda sucked tho, a global threat kicked a ss as expected, and i now love strike anywhere
I went but I got kicked out literally 2 minutes after I got there. I was drunk as balls. Luckily my friend got my money back.

sketchyjoe 03-05-2006 03:40 PM

I've never managed to be kicked out of a show drunk. Been thrown out of a few pubs though.

Liebensaft 03-05-2006 03:53 PM
"I was sober all morning until I woke up this afternoon." is another good one.
"Before I got offered a job, ya know, I was gonna get one soon."

"Before the booze wears off, let's take another shot or two."

Johnny Hobo is awesome.

sketchyjoe 03-05-2006 04:07 PM

"Before someone offered me drugs, you know I was straight edge"

Liebensaft 03-05-2006 04:10 PM

I forgot that one.

"I DON'T EVEN CARE BECAUSE I'M PUNKROCKANARCHY!!"

DaveToopes 03-05-2006 04:11 PM

Why are you yelling?

sketchyjoe 03-05-2006 04:11 PM
I forgot that one.

Which songs' that from?

Liebensaft 03-05-2006 04:21 PM
Which songs' that from?
PUNKROCKANARCHY on the "Anarchy Means I Hate You" demo. I could YSI in the house of Peter Jennings if you like.

sketchyjoe 03-05-2006 04:26 PM

That would be awesome.

I think I'm going to order Love Songs for the Apocolaypse and All Power to the Wingnuts soon. Spare Change is a tiny label but it puts out great stuff.

Liebensaft 03-05-2006 04:51 PM

It's up.

Yeah, is the right mix between small enough to be intimate (unlike somewhere like the Mean Fiddler) but big enough to get good bands.
Exactly right my son, exactly right. And i really hope you've got your Filaments tickets. I look forwrad to seeing you at a few gigs soon.
I've never managed to be kicked out of a show drunk. Been thrown out of a few pubs though.
I would never expect anyone to be kicked out of a show for being drunk. When i saw Alkaline Trio i was asked by a couple of bouncers if i was ok, i said yes (which i was, just very drunk) and carried on watching. they were cool about it and i had a chat with them after the show.

Being thrown out of pubs used to happen to me a lot, now i'm a better drinker, and a better drunk. Whereas (like when i'm sober, maybe just not go as far) i'll still tell people they'rre a cun't if they are, i might a bit longer before i have a go at them now.

sketchyjoe 03-05-2006 06:07 PM

The last time I was asked to leave a pub I basically didn't know where I was and was ready to throw up. I'd also had quite a heated argument apparently with some guy who claimed that The Band did a better version of All Along the Watchtower than Hendrix.

I can hold my drink. I'll drink 5-7 pints and be reasonably drunk, easily able to handle myself and with full control over my body. The problem is that after that many pints all you want is to carry on drinking.

Yeah, I've got my Filaments tickets. The next show I'm going to is Gogol Bordello on Friday which should be pretty good even if would be a lot better at a smaller venue.

Shtein 03-05-2006 06:31 PM

Last time I drank, I threw up all over myself after 4 coolers. I'm still young, i'll learn over time to hold my own liquor.

sketchyjoe 03-05-2006 06:38 PM

Or you'll learn to aim better.

Depends on the strength of what you drink. Fosters is my favorutei low strength. Carlsberg Export is amazing stuff, probably my favoruite overall, and i love Becks byt the bottle. I've been drinking Stella all night now, which i've recently got back into after having gone off it for about 18 months.

I can handle my drink really well. I always think people who blow their own trumpets without being able to proive it are cu'nts. But i can handle my drink well. I can drink all day and not be out out of it, as long as i get something to eat, that's what really messes me up. ALong with red wine.

Fosters brings back bad memories and Stella gives me the worst hangovers. I can't drink wine either. I drink ale usually or a good cider if they have it. If all else fails I'll fall back on Carlsberg, Carling, Kronenbourg or Strongbow. I had some Kronenbourg Blanc the other day which is nice stuff but bloody expensive. I'll drink spirits but usually only after I've had a few. Eating is really key. About a month ago I had nine pints on an empty stomach and it wasn't nice at all.

Aiming vomit is a key skill. I remember once I went into the toilet to throw up but instead of kneeling in front of the toilet bowl I stood over it, swayed backwards as I threw up, virtually missed the toilet entirely, covered the floor and my shoes and spent ages wiping it up with toilet roll.

I seen Date Movie tonight and it was probably the top 3 worst movies I've ever seen! I want my $8.50 back AMC!

sketchyjoe 03-05-2006 08:02 PM

Couldn't you tell it'd be awful from the trailers. Scary Movie was dire, why would this be any better?

haha I know. It was a last minute decision.

But I kind of liked the Scary Movies...

TakeWarning 03-06-2006 02:57 AM

I also liked the Scary Movies.

It was gay, last night, I drank some goon too quickly (while I was already drunk), and it went all up my nose.

Your friends are idiots.

RetiredAt21 03-06-2006 11:34 AM

I haven't read it. What's it about?

sketchyjoe 03-06-2006 11:55 AM

It's set on an airbase in WW2 off the coast of Italy. The main character is Yossarian who's desperately trying to get out of flying any more missions but is prevented from doing so by Catch-22: if you want to fly more missions then you're insane and can be sent home but you have to ask, if you ask to be sent home then you're obviously sane and must carry on flying.

D & V 03-06-2006 12:46 PM

i'm at the library!

sketchyjoe 03-06-2006 12:56 PM

Borrow Catch-22.

You've obviously never been to Uni in Dunedin.

And we have the Bouncing Souls coming here too.

Dunedin > England
