How cold does it get there? Where I live in Canada it's -30 all winter. Brrrr.
meh...and I thought Scotland was bad.

moxshyfter 09-24-2004 06:43 AM

I figured you were from Jamaica or something...

xxxwookie 09-24-2004 06:44 AM

Britain's not that cold in the winter actually. Advantage with living on an island is that you get fairly mild winters.

Hello everyone. So has anyone here already heard the new U2 song "vertigo", I heard today in a bus, kind of cool although I didn't get tha chance to hear the bass because they had these really crappy speakers. The should all have sub-woofers and what-not.

I think that if people could always listen to music as it's supposed to be, with a fat assed bass, there'd better musical taste overall.

So anyway, anyone heard, what'd you think about it?

Spaceman Spiff 09-24-2004 10:10 AM

i have not heard the new U2 and i don't plan on hearing it either because i hate and have always hated them.

and us Canadians do have very cold winters.

moxshyfter 09-24-2004 10:26 AM

I ****ing hate U2 with an uncommon passion. Not that I don't care about what you say Nisa, but I am with Spiff on this one.

nisakss 09-24-2004 10:58 AM

Really?? I love U2. Can I ask why you hate so much U2?

Por cierto Moxshyfter, como andan las cosas?

Omega Red 09-24-2004 11:00 AM
Really?? I love U2. Can I ask why you hate so much U2?

I just generally don't like much "lighter" music. I am really into hard rock, metal, hardcore, so on and so forth. U2 is just too "*****" for me. That, and they're kinda boring.

A cada persona lo suyo. :)

Because Bono's voice is so irritating. Its like he's always out of breath and sounds way to melodramatic. Also, their songs just don't appeal to me at all.

I know the question wasn't directed at me, but I answered it anyway.

:p

Anyone know how I can open ports on my computer/firewall (I'm assuming the problem is from the computer itself, as when I turn off the firewall, I still get crap download rates)? I don't have a router.

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 01:31 PM

**** are you "speaking" english Fox.

man i love bonos voice...

and....

on another note... I may be trying out for jazz band in the next couple of months... should be interesting :(

Foxfire 09-24-2004 01:37 PM

Oh, Janyeno; I don't have a router.

I think it might have to do with something in the program itself; an FAQ said:

" If you start getting weird errors from the tracker, or you can't seem to download anything, your IP address may have changed and you may need to update the BitTorrent commandline options. Yes, it sucks to have to do this manually, but it really does help. Your BitTorrent commandline will then probably look something like this:

"c:\program files\bittorrent\btdownloadgui.exe" --ip 123.45.67.89 --responsefile "%1"
"

Know how I would go about messing with the commandline or whatever?

*sigh* I really need to learn this stuff.

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 01:38 PM

Some bands some people just dont like.

Jaded 09-24-2004 01:52 PM
sublime, bob marley
Sublime?! Wow. Easily my favorite band of all time. Your the first person I've ever seen that doesn't like them.

:amaze: 09-24-2004 02:28 PM

I like them.

No way :amaze:!! Why?

Meh, no one appreciates the grunge movement these days... Now it's all "Prog/Technical Bands rule!!"...

:amaze: 09-24-2004 02:35 PM

...now it's all "7-string basses rule!"

:P

:amaze:

Mitchell Royce 09-24-2004 02:48 PM

Not to be a Jacka$$ but I've seriously never heard a 7 string used in a way that was used to its full potential. By that I mean it didn't sound any better than a 6 stringer. And even then, that high c is just too much for me. Gimme a 7 string that tuned C# F# B E A D G.

Foxfire 09-24-2004 03:06 PM

...Why would you use a 7-strings full potential in every song? :p

And Radiobass - Grunge movement = overrated.

:p

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 03:24 PM

The one thing I just dont like about die hard Nirvana fans and grunge fans is that they think grunge started in the 90's when in truth Neil Young has been doing grunge since the late 60's.

I keep my Fretless 6 at F#BEADG.

I know some have been wanting to see my Sandberg so I asked my dad to see if he had any photos and he did so here you go. It's a crappy pic but its what i got.
The toggles look positioned stupid if you play it it's easy to see why there over there.

Crapdragoon 09-24-2004 03:56 PM

Heh that thing looks pretty meh :-/

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 03:59 PM

I know its not a looker but it sounds great and feels amazing, I could give a hoot about looks.

Crapdragoon 09-24-2004 04:01 PM

whats it made of

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 04:07 PM

The Neck/Center Block is Mahogany and the wings are Indian Rosewood. The Fretbord which is kinda hard to see from the glare lined Ebony, the bass is darker in real life. And the Top is Maple with this coat of silver/gray finish.

Hey.

I'm just listening to some music.

What's up with you?

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 04:09 PM

Nothing much, how are you EP. Did you see the pic of my bass.

Crapdragoon 09-24-2004 04:13 PM

hmm thats a nicee wood combo.

nisakss 09-24-2004 04:17 PM
I know its not a looker but it sounds great and feels amazing, I could give a hoot about looks.
hey, i really like how it looks. Anyway, you're right, the important thing is how it sounds.

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 04:17 PM

Thank you.

e p 09-24-2004 04:17 PM

Yeah. I liked the look actually. It looks like nice wood and is somewhat worn which gives it a cool look.

How does it play?

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 04:19 PM

Plays like you wouldnt believe, its so **** comfortable the balance is less than an once away from perfect, its a little neck heavy casue its a 36 inch scale. The one bad thing is that its pretty heavy, but I can handle it.

e p 09-24-2004 04:23 PM

36", wow.

Sounds cool.

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 04:26 PM

The 36" can be a little strenuous at times, especially when switching between 34" but the tension is incredable, downtune friendly.

Foxfire 09-24-2004 05:05 PM

What've you got the knobs and switches for, if you don't mind my asking?
