Those work great on non-local message boards.

chips88 03-22-2005 06:52 PM

I just got a Throwdown shirt and Stings of Conscience, am I scene yet guys?

A-Life-Less-Plagued 03-22-2005 06:53 PM

No, you have to listen to the new Bane song and you have to love it. http://www.purevolume.com/bane

And you also have to love Dillinger Four for some reason.

If by scene you mean metalcore jock, then yes.

Drop out of hardcore.

RetiredAt21 03-22-2005 07:27 PM

By hardcore...do you mean actual hardcore, or metalcore?

A-Life-Less-Plagued 03-22-2005 07:29 PM

What do you think?

RetiredAt21 03-22-2005 07:30 PM

I'm not sure. That's why I asked.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 03-22-2005 07:31 PM

Well I would have said 'drop out of metalcore' if I meant that wouldn't I?

Uh, yeah, it says Throwdown on the front, and it has a grenade in the middle, and it also has the line "for myself, for my friends, for my family" in like an arc around the top of that, and then three big X's in the background of that.

RouteOne 03-22-2005 08:59 PM

Throwdown= the worst lyrics ever.

Never back down
Never give in
Just let the ****ing bastards do themselves in
You ****ing bastards
Im gonna stand my ground
You ****ing bastards
Time to stand your ground
The time is now
Dont be another victim
Take back whats ****ing yours
Stay true to your convictions

Who listens to bands because of their lyrics?

Or...doesn't listen to a band because of their lyrics?

As long as their screamed/sung well, it doesn't matter to me.

Can't say I have. If I find some lyrics that are good, I will reverse my statement.

So a band could scream Potato for 3 solid minutes and you would like it if it was played well?

shane italiano 03-22-2005 09:20 PM
Can't say I have. If I find some lyrics that are good, I will reverse my statement.
The lyrics aren't amazing, but Keith had some pretty good subject matter and a good way of expressing his opinions. Plus the band just straight up kicked a'ss.

cbmartinez 03-22-2005 09:21 PM

He's singing about something that means a lot to him. Sure he doesn't present it in the most innovative way but the message definitely gets across.

BridgeToSolace 03-22-2005 09:22 PM

They could be screaming about raping disabled black midgets for all I care.

As long as it's played well, and the vocalist sing/screams it well, it doesn't matter to me.

I'm not saying good lyrics aren't appreciated, but they are by no means necessary.

I know, Lyrics are just a pet peev for me. I need to have well thought out lyrics. It shows thought process the band goes through to make the album.

Probably one of my favorite Throwdown songs here:

spin, spin a year it's been a ****ing year and you're not here. i spin around (and the faces change everyday). Another down, another day, RIGHT? So spin, spin that ****, spin it quick, where the **** you at? Accept the change? No! From your reality - TO MY OWN. So keep your head in the game, don't wanna be another one year name. This one goes out to the kids, the kids that still remain. Another dawn, another day. I WON'T - (try to make it fit) I WON'T - (try to change your mind) I WON'T (if I thought I could) I WON'T - (I would have tried) Every day to the next. Day to day. Try and try... you can't stop the change. Move that floor and don't stop motha****a. GO!
