Just because one person doesn't need AA or whatever to "kick their habit" and another person does, doesn't make them weak. Not everyone is the same and when it comes down to it, if AA helps a person see a different perspective and kick's their habit then that's great in my opinion. The end result is the same, the roads to get there differ, who the fuck cares.

but I think there is something completely inconsistent in judging the people who turn to AA or are shuffled into it for help, rather than blaming AA for preying on people at their lowest

I have not, I will admit so I don't know what really goes on in their sessions. I thought it was just a place where addicts can go to hear each others stories, go through steps to help them kick whatever they're on and learn to live life with a sober mind.
